I have never seen that model before...
I actually use one of their SideWinder mice, and it's really great. Shame it didn't catch on :\
I've heard it's a good mouse.
It looks pretty uncomfortable to me. I've heard it's uncomfortable too. They should've probably made it more comfortable.
I have never seen that model before...
Its the X8, the same one I have. I got it from the Facepunch radio back in the summer. I also have the SideWinder x4 (The keyboard) both products are excellent, I don't know what Microsoft are thinking.
I've been using a SideWinder x3 for the past year and I haven't encountered any problems with it other than terrible side button placement, but I like it. It's kind of disappointing now that Microsoft is ending the line.
I've got a sidewinder, fantastic mouse. Shame they are discontinuing.
The sidewinder mouse I have is surprisingly comfortable.
They do LOOK pretty uncomfortable. I never said they were uncomfortable. I just thought it had a similar bulky style to the the Saitek Cyborg Which looks fucking uncomfortable. Logitech MX518 however...
Saitek Cyborg looks like a Megatron from Transformers. Maybe it transforms into a walking mouse?
I have an X8 too the middle mouse button died after like 2-3 months not impressed
I love my X8, it sucks that they're discontinuing it.
I've had the model with the weights in for two years now. It's a really solid piece o' hardware, real shame that the line'll be discontinued.

I still use the original SideWinder joystick for Falcon 4.0. Can't be bothered to spend money on a more modern HOTAS setup.
I have an X8 and the Macro button is the bane of my fucking life because outside of games I often use the mouse left-handed, thus I press it, set a macro, set it off without noticing and BAM, computer is operating itself for the next ten minutes. I will probably buy a new mouse soonish.
I love my X8 and X4. Don't really see why they have decided to stop production, they are pretty good bits of hardware. The mouse is comfy and the keyboard is nice to type on, it is however a bit of a pain to keep clean due to the gloss finish but hey, give it a wipe and its back to looking like new. Plus I'd be hard to say that the X4 and X6 are as good or even better than some of logitech's keyboards, it certainly beats their old G11 which the X4 was designed to compete with.
Shame, the only gripe i have with my X8 is the middle mouse button, it died like 3-4 months after i got it, but i don't ever use the Middle button so it's no big deal. Sidewinder M/K represent.
Well apparently they're not discontinuing it!
