Minchinbury was a failure. But as we all know, abandoned places are not the only areas to check out. There are a series of tunnels that run underground for miles. (Basically the sewer system)
I will take spooky pictures while down there. The tunnels are too narrow and small for any inhabitants other than feral cats and mice/rats. I'll try getting different angle shots and what-not and hopefully set the mood so when you see these pictures you will get shivers down your spine or find the picture a little eerie. I'll see if I can also fit in some nice pictures. (Not sure how though)
I checked the tunnels out yesterday but the light I had was very cheap. Five small (but powerful) L.E.D lights but they didn't light the place up. I will get a better torch and check it out another time.
I also heard a loud banging sound. It was a mix of a bang and gurgle which kinda made me jump. Mainly because my light was too faint to see far down the tunnels.
But the entrance has two tunnels that reconnect about 10 metres in then split up again. I will find out of the tunnels open up like I once heard or of they just stretch on forever.
drains are the best
what kind are they?
there are many kinds where i live

i spend lots of time in them
with my camera
and beer
it's a lot of fun
i'd recommend it, just not when it rains
The tunnels are small but big enough to slouch over in. I heard they open up as you go deeper.
look for the main drain they feed into, they can sometimes be enormous
look for rivers on maps that just seem to disappear; you have most of the drains around

Bring a can of spraypaint down there, the walls look like a canvas.
It's never a good idea to spray paint indoors, and whatever you put there would get ruined quickly because of all the water passing through.

it lasts a lot longer than you'd think
if it gets time to dry it will live a very long time
i've found art from the 60's in tunnels still in a legible condition
My motivation to urbex has been crushed. I cannot get anywhere since none of my mates are ever up for it or have "sudden change of plans". [sp]Sure...yeah right![/sp]
My mother does not care that I am going out and about but she wants me to go with atleast one friend and if no one goes I cannot go.
