House Freedom Caucus backs amended GOP health care bill
The conservative House Freedom Caucus, which stymied recent efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare last month, announced Wednesday that it is backing the GOP health care bill with the inclusion of the MacArthur Amendment.
"Due to improvements to the AHCA and the addition of Rep. Tom MacArthur’s proposed amendment, the House Freedom Caucus has taken an official position in support of the current proposal," a statement from the group read.
"While the revised version still does not fully repeal Obamacare, we are prepared to support it to keep our promise to the American people to lower healthcare costs. We look forward to working with our Senate colleagues to improve the bill."
While the group's support for the AHCA marks a significant development, it doesn't necessarily guarantee there are enough votes to pass the measure just yet.
Can't wait to see all these Baby Boomers who voted for Trump to lose their healthcare coverage for preexisting conditions and blame it on Obama.
Does somebody still have that tweet about the "leopard eating people's faces party"?
Net Neutrality is on the chopping block, tensions are still escalating with North Korea, failed Health Care reform from Hell is back with a vengeance, education standards are being lowered, and Trump is reforming taxes to benefit the rich.
The First 100 Days of President Trump sure are going out with a bang! :hammered:

And the president somehow still has the undying support of 40% of Americans.
This county just is not worth fixing with this many idiots running around free.
It's a shame my parents are wrong about the Jewish illuminati industrial complex, because otherwise things would probably be going just plain old mediocre

Unexpected bit of good news. I wonder how big a bone Ryan threw them to get this declaration of support.
The MacArthur Amendment would retain the ACA's pre-existing conditions coverage and certain other benefits, but also allows states to obtain waivers (with limitations) from supporting the ACA if their method can be demonstrated to lower the cost of health care or increase health coverage.
What worries me is that this may be a back door for states to allow some bullshit insurance plan that costs $10/month and doesn't even cover annual checkups at a GP, and then call that a cost savings and opt out of the ACA. This was previously a concern, and I'm no expert in the ACA but I'm very wary that this is the way they manage that out, and then the poor in the south get fucked.

Is it still edgy to think that a majority of people are retarded and that we are part of the few who understand what is going on? Because this is starting to feel true.

Just because it's edgy doesn't mean it's untrue.

I think of myself as a pretty middle of the road human being. And still the ignorance of some people around me surprises me way too often. It's absolutely surreal to be friends with other engineering students who don't believe carbon dating exists, or that if trans people are born that way, they should have their head fixed, not their dick. Some stuff is really really simple and I cannot understand how people exist with such poor ciritcal thinking and/or comprehension skills

well, not that i'd wish it upon them but if congress doesn't pass the coal miners pension bill which the republicans won't (somehow they are blaming it on the miners not the coal companies who chapter 11'd out of liability) and no more healthcare, and the backwoods support he enjoyed was really not in the best health, you can sort of expect the actual number of people to drop once extreme poverty, drug abuse, and failing health hits a shredded safety net.

I know its fucked up, but I almost get a feeling of schadenfraude from seeing these people fuck themselves over.

except they're not, blame the GOP all you want but a majority of red states no longer have affordable insurance with places leaving the marketplaces, cause people's premiums to increase even more.
