Two planes carrying bodies from crashed flight MH17 have landed in the Netherlands where a day of mourning for the 298 victims has been declared. Experts there will begin to identify the dead, most of whom were Dutch. Pro-Russian rebels have been widely accused of shooting down the Malaysia Airlines plane on 17 July. UK government sources say intelligence shows rebels deliberately tampered with evidence, moving bodies and placing parts from other planes in the debris. As fighting continued in eastern Ukraine on Wednesday, officials in Kiev told the BBC that two aircraft, thought to be military jets, had been downed just 35km (20 miles) from the crash site. The officials had no information on the cause of the crashes, or the fate of the pilots. US intelligence officials had earlier released evidence to the media that they said showed the separatists' involvement in bringing down flight MH17. Rebels have also been accused of exaggerating the number of bodies transported from the crash site to the town of Kharkiv on Tuesday. They had claimed 282 bodies had been loaded on to a train, but experts said only 200 could be verified. The two military planes - one Dutch and the other Australian - carrying the first 40 coffins landed at Eindhoven air base to be met by members of the Dutch royal family, Prime Minister Mark Rutte and hundreds of victims' relatives. Churches around the Netherlands rang their bells for five minutes before the planes landed, and flags of all the nations affected by the disaster have been flying at half mast. In a solemn ceremony, the coffins were slowly loaded into a fleet of waiting hearses. The bodies are being taken to the Korporaal van Oudheusden barracks south of the city of Hilversum for identification. Mr Rutte said that process could take months. The hearses then moved off in a procession with a motorcycle escort. Earlier, the coffins had been loaded on to the planes by a military guard of honour at Kharkiv airport in eastern Ukraine. Ambassadors, officials and soldiers gathered to see off the planes. Australian government envoy Angus Houston said the ceremony was intended to give the victims the "respect and dignity they deserve" after a "tragedy of unspeakable proportions".
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-28431943 Live video in source. Its just coffins after coffins.
I'm kind've curious how they got the bodies out of a war-zone safely while separatists are blindly firing SAMs everywhere. Edit: Scratch that, I see they trained them out then loaded them onto planes.

The sky is dark, saturated with missiles. Not even large birds are safe. Shrapnel rain blocks river and streams and the concussive rhythm of explosive thuds rings throughout day and night.
Damn the Dutch know how to treat the dead with mad respect. It was a really eerie day today, the radio only played toned down music (rather than happy summer music), there were no commercials on Dutch radio and TV, no game shows were being done on the radio, lots of crying people on TV and radio. The most unique moment was that at 16:00 all churches in the Netherlands rang their bell which sounded somewhat haunting, even the 600 year old Dom in Utrecht sounded the bell. [editline]23rd July 2014[/editline] [editline]23rd July 2014[/editline] I seriously found it a very beautiful moment, (nearly) everyone was completely silent.
all windmills were asked to put blades in the mourning position.
Now that's something i've never heard said in my life. Didn't even know they had protocol like that for windmills.

Then it occurred to me that it's never been that quiet there. Not even after we closed. While walking home from work I noticed many people had hung out their flags too. [t]http://a.pomf.se/mdtfbe.jpg[/t] It was rather beautiful. But there certainly was a grim atmosphere.
Meanwhile in Gaza.... (User was banned for this post ("There are terrible events going on all around the world. It is not your place, or anyone's, to try and redirect people's attention in such a way. Do not do this again." - Seiteki))
Windmill in mourning position. All the trains stopped and public transport stopped for a minute as well.
Meanwhile in Gaza....
-snip- not even worth discussing
Meanwhile in Gaza....
This is not the place.
Terrible this had to happen, russian idiots.
Terrible this had to happen, russian idiots.
Putin gathered everybody in Russia and they all, in unison, pressed the button launching the missile. Chechens cheered, Russians rallied and Kahzaks waved their hands in delight at the Russian master plan. Attitudes like your's spawn mutual enmity between nations.
This is not the place.
Perhaps. I was attempting to outline the strange juxtaposition of events. Where 300 are given a national funeral basically, and 600 in a different part of the world cannot even have a gathering.

He said stupid Russians. The people who shot this plane down were, you guessed it, Russian. You might have had a trace of a point if he said Russia, but even then it would be better to try and white-knight somewhere other than SH.

You might want to present it to the various heads of state involved in the crisis for them to easier bring the perpetrators to justice. Make haste the sooner you give them the data the sooner they can ignore it and sanction Russia some more. And white knight? A guy blurting bullshit and I'm telling him hes wrong.
The country is just one big traffic jam.
kinda looks like the same car photoshopped together from incremental photos [t]http://i.imgur.com/yShwnMy.png[/t] I wish it actually was just a photoshop, too. sad stuff
Terrible this had to happen, russian idiots.
I love how this brings the russophobia out, let it flow. I didn't know being Russian was relevant to being an idiot. Tell me, does being Russian make everything worse, even being an idiot? Lmao
Wait, were you being sarcastic about this? Because these two are very good reasons to think the Russian government is shit.
The guy said Russians, not Russian government. Nobody said anything about the government, but the people.
The video actually made me tear up, I can only imagine what they're going through.. R.I.P :/ Edit: Can you people stop fighting for one motherfucking second over who shot the plane down and pay some respect to those who died?
I actually was in Utrecht ( A major city in the Netherlands ) at 4' O clock when we had our one minute of sillence. A lot of people gathered around the "Dom Tower" which is where the huge bells are at and the clock and stuff which produced a very special melody thanks to a leather-something that they put over the bells for grief. It was real powerful to see and experience a city like this in complete silence. It's always crowded, there are always hundreds of people talking, walking, cycling, yelling and it was quiet. It was absolutely terrifying and the most beautiful thing at the same time.. That is the central station which is also one of the most crowded places And this is next to the tower I was over at the other side but there were hundreds of people standing still staring at the clock, being quiet, doing nothing, saying nothing. Not even a noise a laugh or a whisper. I think it was beautiful and a wonderful way to show that a lot of people think about the people who have died, or about people who have people close who are one of the victims
Wait, were you being sarcastic about this? Because these two are very good reasons to think the Russian government is shit.
And you have just high lighted my issue. Gay prisons? No. That was made up by the media. The ACTUAL law passed was to stop "gay propaganda" Still a shit poor law but certainly not what it was made out to be. To put this into context so you don't get the wrong idea, there were a series of laws out lawing what they considered to be "vices" this includes swearing in performances also. It was a really shitty law but gay prisons are absolute propaganda. Invasions. I think you'll find America has had more wars and invasions than Russia since the 1990s. That is not justifying anything what they are doing but again the press has managed to spin this to make Russia look dis-proportionally violent. If you disagree to either of these I'm open to hearing your contribution. People talk about Russians being brainwashed, but with stuff like the above it makes you wonder if it is any more than what you yourself are subjected to.
Did you even read the entire sentence you quoted? :v: edit: and what about my other points? was I right about those?
You might as well not say anything and use something as an argument if you're going to tell us it's not justifiable further into your post, so yeah, I'm keeping what I said, it's too late.
edit: and what about my other points? was I right about those?
Putting it simply, it's dumb and doesn't matter.
