Long story short I was smoking and my dog was in the room, parents came home and saw she was acting odd, and now theyve taken her to the vet. Do you think they'd find THC in a blood test? I mean i doubt theyd look for it but still.
Hmm... I'm not entirely sure. That's a very interesting problem sir. Let me know how it goes, but I think you're set. Define "Acting Weird"...
Unresponacive, trouble walking or moving, she was rotating her head in circles when holding it up. she refused to walk up the stairs.
Hmm.. Sounds like an old dog, eh?
Ahaha, yeah. i just dont want to get in shit if for some reason they test for drugs.
What I find funny about this is that your parents are taking the dog to the vets, and your first worry is if they are going to test the dog for marijuana. I was expecting something more like "I just took X and I'm feeling Y, am I gonna die?".
Ahaha, yeah. i just dont want to get in shit if for some reason they test for drugs.
I think the vet will assume he's just tired or something. They MAY test his blood, not sure.
There are going to be specific things they are going to test for. I don't think they are going to test for marijuana because there is typically no reason at all to test for marijuana in pets. The only possible reason as to why the vets would test for it would be from your parent's own suspicion. I kind of doubt that the vets would even have testing equipment for marijuana.
Vet's are people too, they probably know what it's like/consider the possibility when animals are high. If I were a vet, and a family brought their dog in and I realized it was high, I would probably just say it's 'fatigued' or something and recommended some fresh water.
You can't just examine blood and see, oh there's THC in here. They have to specifically test it for THC.
op is high nothing will happen [editline]16th March 2011[/editline] the vet might get 100$ though
Apparently they did a toxicity test and found THC. Ahaha.. kinda funny. I got in shit though for doing drugs around the dog.
Lol
Damn they actually found it in the dog?
Apparently they did a toxicity test and found THC. Ahaha.. kinda funny. I got in shit though for doing drugs around the dog.
Ladies and gentlemen.... we have a winner.
Apparently they did a toxicity test and found THC. Ahaha.. kinda funny. What I find even harder to believe is that they did the tests and you got the results back in less than 14 hours. o_O How'd it go with your parents, though?
-snip-
I think just a general toxicity test looks for that kind of stuff, they thought maybe she had eaten chocolate or something. They were alright, they said I had to pay for the vet bill and they found and flushed my weed, told me not to do it while I live there. It wasn't so awful. [editline]16th March 2011[/editline] they put her through detox and made her stay the night, going to do tests to check for no permanent nerve damage or some bullshit like that so the bills probably going to be way more than it should be.
But that's not how chemical tests work, they need to use a reagent to test for each individual compound they're looking for. They don't just do a generic toxicity test and get a list of all the substances in the body. Also, nerve damage? Are you sure these are actual vets? Sucks about your weed, though. What are the vets charging you? Seems a bit ridiculous that you'd have to pay for her to be detoxed for something that'll naturally pass through her system.
I don't think that they can legally force you to let them keep the dog if it isn't life threatening or anything.
That dog is going to cost you a lot of money

Yea, I hope you sure love your dog for the amount your about to pay for a overnight stay and shit cause if not you might kill it next time you see it.
I think your parents are lying to you dude.
I think your parents are lying to you dude.
I guess they could be but i'll see the bill before I pay it.
Your parent's are likely lying to you about something. They probably told the vets that it was likely from marijuana due to suspicion of you, and now the vets are trying to make some money with a bogus over night thing. Or your parents didn't take the dog to the vets and instead just have it at someone's house and made up the whole vet part to back you into a corner. Or they could be telling the truth and you could have stopped them from wasting their money by saying you smoked up the dog. I find them telling the truth to be unlikely.
I find them telling the truth to be unlikely.
Were they even suspicious of his smoking?
