i love halo but i heard this is getting released in russia only
woah it is actaully the halo 3 build being worked for new stuff only in russia; that's really weird yet cool. Hope it comes here too
A pretty awesome lookng remake of Turf, wasted on this.
I don't care if it's in Russia now, I want to download it.
I'm so divided when it comes to this; one part of me wants to diss the shit out of this and start sending angry letters to 343 asking why they just wouldn't give us a normal Halo game instead of this P2W garbage while the other part of me is a bit curious as to how HO will play.
How come the Halo 4 assets look better in Halo 3 then they do in Halo 4

"Why do Halo 4 assets look better on a PC in 2015 than a console released in 2005."
I know some guys are gonna find a way to get this running in the US. PC halo 3 custom games here we come!
Have they still not explained why they settled on only opening the beta up to Russia?

On an engine made for a console released in 2005.

Russia is known for having a high rate of piracy. They also do not buy consoles as much as the american market and f2p is extremely popular over there as well. It's practically the perfect starting area for a game such as this. Also this won't stop me from just using a VPN.
Apparently this has an in-game economy, so I don't have high hopes

oh god I sense grinding
By looking the the prices on weapons it looks like "buy weapon for 1d ###ingamemoneybucks and buy weapon for ever #reallifemoneybucks"

Saber Interactive (devs) are based out of Russia. Safe bet we hear news about it's expansion to other countries soon.
I like how the trailer shows the game in full english but only is releasing in RU.
You also rent guns... This can't be any good.
I just want Halo 3 ported.
I just want Halo 3 ported.
this seriously seems like the closest we've ever gotten
I remember one of the Naughty Dog devs was asked his opinion on what the other dev companies did with crash, and he said "Don't quote me on this, but it's kind of like watching your daughter do porn."
I wonder how Bungie feels about Halo, these days.
ya cos its totally impossible to modify an engine after its initial use lmao
Except they're aiming for low-end PCs.
Halo Online is powered by a highly modified version of the Halo 3 engine and optimized for smooth performance on lower-end PCs.
IDK how low they're talking though, or how it's been heavily modified but I still doubt they'd improve the engine a lot for a F2P low-end game with reused assets.
You know, this actually doesn't look half ba-
Rent weapons
nvm

TBH that and the whole Russia only thing is what keeping me from playing it.

why on earth
From the trailer I saw a few suspicious looking things:
Equipment piece levels that increase melee damage.
Guns with one stat advantage, could be balanced so that the default weapon is ok all round, but you never know.
Really, if the gameplay of halo is as good as people make it out to be, then they could look past that.
There's a 'rent' button in the corner on the weapons pane, and you can choose 30 mins, 6 hours and 24 hours to rent weapons. Personally I like the development of the weapons and variants but that seems like a really bad idea
Inexcusable.
"Buy gold"
"Buy boost"
being able to purchase guns/armor with irl money instead of a huge amount of cash
no thanks, going to avoid the shit out of this pay to win grindfest

The problem is that without competitive gameplay and superb balance Halo's gameplay is mediocre, which is why the supremely balanced and competitive Halo 2 and 3 are agreed upon as fantastic, the imbalanced and casual 4 and 5 are considered mediocre, and Reach being somewhere in between is considered generally decent, though not as good as 2 and 3.
Adding in pay to win weapons completely destroys any semblance of competitive gameplay and is obviously imbalanced to top it off.
God the weapons being like blacklight retribution's rental system has me worried
Wait why do I care if it's only in russian
