People come up with the darnedest reasons for skipping work. Sick kid, dentist appointment, running over a fictional young girl with your car and killing her — wait, what?! Scottish music teacher Derek McGlone hit a very wrong note with his latest excuse for not showing up to his job at Calderhead High School, telling supervisors that he had “knocked a girl over” with his car. “He said he felt his car wheels running over her body,” principal Joyce Kilmartin said. McGlone, who now has a 12-month reprimand on the teaching register, says he’s “embarrassed and sorry” for his actions. Sorry for your actions, or sorry your excuse totally sucked? [Source]

He's quite good looking
He couldn't just say that he forgot to turn on his alarm?
"Scottish music teacher Derek McGlone hit a very wrong note"
Really?

That excuse doesn't work for students, I don't think it works for teachers either.
It doesn't work that way. Excuses have to be mundane and simple. Unfortunately I can't use the "computer crashed" excuse because I back up everything twice.

It works better than saying you hit a child with a car.
he should have said he got hit by a car while saving some girl that would have looked a little better.
