I feel the same way. As a DC fan I liked it, but it had shit pacing and plot. Not as bad as BvS by a large margin, but doesn't stand up to any Marvel movies either.
If you're not the kind of person who actively reads the Suicide Squad series, you'll probably like it. If you do though, you'll come out disappointed as all hell like me. The film itself fails to capture any of the brutal darkness that is Suicide Squad. This is most likely because of many different groups dipping their hands into the production pot before forming a solid plot and tone for the film. One of my biggest gripes was Deadshot; who became this brotherly love leader amongst the squad. This is probably because of Hollywood constantly making Will Smith to be the summer action hero good guy. In reality though that guy would've killed off anyone if they gave him a chance. Same goes fore very single one of the SSs; all those guys are cut-throat and the comics do an excellent job in capturing that villainy essence. To summarize it up, DC wanted to make Guardians of the Galaxy: DC Edition. It felt flat on its face if you ask me.
