NOT ACTUAL ART SCHOOL THREAD JUST PLANNING AND TEACHER ENROLMENT
The Creationism Corner Art School Thread will hopefully be the ultimate thread for art resources, user written tutorials and in-depth feed back from teachers. The aim is to benefit the whole facepunch art community and help us all improve and share our skills. If you want to be part of it and hopefully contribute read on.
(The point of this thread is to see if anyone is interested in being a teacher/tutorial writter and to collect any initial resources for the main thread.)
Art Resources
Know of any useful art resources, links, websites, non-user written tutorials that you think will be useful?
PM the link to me! If they are good quality they'll be included in the thread! Anything counts: music, traditional, digital, photography, animation, programs, general advice, etc...
User written tutorials and teachers
The thread will hopefully contain user written tutorials for people to attempt and get feed back on. If you have written a tutorial before now and want to submit it (even if you have already posted it in CC before) please do.
The most important part will be the weekly tutorial:
If you want to write a tutorial especially for the thread that'll be featured as the weekly tutorial please post in this thread with when you could do it by and on what. The first few of these tutorials will hopefully be on art basics such as: Anatomy, perspective, shading, colour composition. These will then branch out into more advanced tutorials.
If you want to be a teacher you will also have to willing to do a bit of red line correction so that the advice and helpful criticism is truly helpful.
Please help this thread work! by contributing and supporting it! It could be a real benefit for the community!!

How do you get shading that doesn't looks like ass in digital art?
Well if the art school kicks off, you never know someone could write a tutorial on it!
Very useful thread Greeneyes. I'll write up some tutorials tomorrow on basic mould casting and techniques. That is, whether or not this thread is specifically designed just for digital art or painting.
Everything artistic! so mould casting counts.
Oh can I be a teacher please.
I'll be nice.

I can do stuff like this
I'm sure there's a place for you :buddy:
Tutorials that need to be written:
-Basic Anatomy
-Faces
-Hands
-Perspective
-Shading / Colouring
-etc.....
These tutorials should come first on the drawing side of things, so if people would offer to do one?
I'm currently writting a mega-flash tutorial going through basics to detailed animation which will be released in parts.
I wrote a massive thing on basic colour-theory for the Gmod screenshots section not long ago. Guys over there don't get any theoretical stuff like that at all so it needed explaining... not sure how useful it would be to people here though. A lot of it was pretty much directly ripped from stuff theLazyLion had said to me in threads for my work.
Send me the link if its relevant It'll put in!

A lot of it refers specifically to Gmod and common mistakes made in that section though so... I dunno.
Nice! I think its very relevant, If you don't mind could it be included?
Oh my god please write a shading tutorial
Nice! I think its very relevant, If you don't mind could it be included?
Ahah sure yeh that's great. Maybe just put a disclaimer saying something about it having been written for the Gmod screenshots section?
Of course, credit will also be given to everyone's work used.
This is a great idea. If only I could draw properly, I would make a tutorial or two :l When are you planning on creating the thread?
When there is a good amount of resources and a few user made tutorials are queued up.
Great, can't wait :buddy:
Thanks detlef, I always got that problem and then wondered why pro artists just spammed large bits of colour onto their piece.
I'm looking forward to reading decent tutorials in this thread!

Common people we need more teachers, you know you want to slave away writing tutorials.
If people would tell me their times available I could make basic tutorials to get people started on almost every adobe program.
Adobe program tutorials would be good. What do you mean by people telling you their times available?
I would like some help on adobe illustrator if possible.
-snip-
I'm an idiot
I don't think you understand the point of this thread.
Oh shit, just saw Enrolment. I don't understand why you would need a thread for something like this but okay then...
I probably wasn't too clear but this is a planning thread. So its just to organise the creation of the actual thread, sorry for any misunderstanding.
Maybe there isn't enough content for a Art school yet.

Not yet, this thread is to gather people who want to make the content. :)
I can help on the technical aspects and basics.
