[img_thumb]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/39/Yogi_bear_poster.jpg[/img_thumb] Yogi Bear, the film, is an upcoming Live Action w/ CGI movie based upon the Hanna-Barbera TV Show, which is to be released this December 17, assuming there are no delays in development. It was originally supposed to be directed by Ash Brannon, who worked on animated movies such as Toy Story 1 and 2, Bug's Life, and Over the Hedge, but he was replaced by Eric Brevig, who directed... Journey to the Center of the Earth. It is also the first film produced by Hanna-Barbera without Bill Hanna or Joe Barbera's assistance. Did I mention it is in EYE-POPPING 3D? The plot is pretty much that Jellystone Park is losing business, so the mayor, being greedy or something, decides to close it. Presumably, Yogi will team up with his former nemesis, Ranger Smith, to save the park from closure while leaving the story just open for a sequel, which, is probably going to happen. Here is the trailer for the movie. :frown:
William Hanna and Joseph Barbera are spinning in their graves
:wtc: Why?
My reaction when I saw the title: :gonk:
It actually doesn't look too bad.
I saw the poster for this awhile back. I can honestly say now that I've seen the trailer that it's far worse then I ever could have imagined.
OH GOD NO!!! NO!!!! MY CHILDHOOD IS RUINED :suicide:
2010 - the year the funny died
Well I guess that's that. :suicide:
Dan Aykroid as Yogi? Pass. Justin Timberlake as Booboo? Murderous rampage time.
if huckleberry hound is in it, i'll kill a bitch
Well I guess that's it. *Gunshot* MODA FUCKING 1 MINUTE NINJA!
if huckleberry hound is in it, i'll kill a bitch
By the look of the Wikipedia page, he isn't in it. In fact, the cast seems pretty limited, right now just Yogi's family, the ranger, the mayor, and some other minor characters.
Childhood .... gone..
I thought by "live action" it meant "PLAYED BY ACTUAL FUCKING BEARS AND ALL THE DIALOGUE IS ROARING AND SHIT BUT WITH SUBTITLES" That would've excused the abominable travesty that this is sure to be.
The trailer just makes it look like another family movie. They just had to make it about Yogi Bear.
"Justin Timberlake as Boo Boo" :wtc:
I am crying with laughter just at the fact that Justin Timberlake plays Boo Boo.
What's with Hollywood trying to bring back old and dead childhood icons with live action/CGI movies? First the Smurfs movie and now this?
Goddamn. This has everything wrong. There's no wacky sound effects and there's a romantic sideplot and zany dancing CGI animals which every other CGI film about animals ever made has.
I guess that's that. :smithicide:
Is it me or does it sometimes look like the human characters are acting in front of a green screen?
William Hanna and Joseph Barbera are spinning in their graves
*DRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR* What's that you ask? Hanna-Barbera spinning in their graves at a thousand RPM.
Holy fuck 3D it's not like every animation since last year has done that wow.
Only on Yahoo... :colbert: And I'm sick of all this 3D nonsense is bloody annoying, I just view it as an attempt to boost ratings and whatnot. Not every movie needs this. I blame James Cameron. ¬_¬
3D movie = more expensive ticket brah. Which equals more profit. That is if people actually see it in 3D.
wow it has faggot timberfag in it
When I first heard of this ages ago, I thought that Dan Aykroyd was a good choice for the voice of Yogi Bear. If he'd have just used his regular voice, it'd have been a lot better.
Looks alright, nothing amazing. The humor is still like the old cartoons though, which is a good thing.
Smurfs movie
I'm afraid to ask
