Ew dropshotter
But yes. This is very annoying. I half wish that they'd just teleport instead of the compensation.
I'm almost always host, perhaps that why i think people suck on xbox.
This is exactly why not having dedi's fucks everything up. And this is also why having to connect to some stats server mid game fucks shit up. Do it the way BF2 did, you quit mid game, it's like you were never there.
This was proven long ago to be honest.
Sounds like he's saying "leg" instead of "lag"
Dedicated servers are awesome.
I feel kind of bad for the 360 and PS3 players, seeing as they still have to deal with the host bullshit. It also reminds me of how angry I was at MW2's lack of dedicated servers.

Like this doesn't happen on dedicated servers too? Mostly the "fire on your screen and nothing happens in killcam" part.
This happens in every single CoD game, probably every other game too but there aren't killcams in those.

It happened a lot more in PC MW2 than PC BO though. So they do help a bit...

It's just his dialect/accent.
I knew from CoD4 that the lag compensation in the series was bad. I'm starting to think this is morely his internet though. I've done tests of my own on both pc and xbox versions, and mine aren't ever THIS bad or obvious.

PS3 has it MUCH much worse. Xbox it is only a problem maybe 1/20 games. In my experience at least.

Well it should be for the 50 bucks a year.
This exact reason is why i'm way better at battlefield than COD. people tell me i suck, yet it's either, extreme bad luck, or this. on battlefield, i've gone multiple rounds with 2-3 times the kills than deaths i've had, in a row.
I've dealt with this on the PC, and it's very frustrating. Shooting an opponent directly in front of me for a couple seconds while maintaining accurate aim, just to hit nothing and find myself dead... It occurs even in low-latency servers.
Those last two examples always happen to me, it's very frustrating.
*Phew* I though I was the only one. At first I was thinking I was just a raging nerd but know I see I have good reason to be pissed.

What about the PC users that had(have?) a huge memory leak?
This is why I like Dedicated Servers... and arguably good games.
In-game to theater mode comparison does not make sense, because the same phenomenom appears in other games. Didn't you know that in Valve's games, the demos are NOT lag compensated aswell?
This is just the result of comparing something that is lag compensated and something that is not.
It is normal.
Can you please talk in normal sentences?
And not like this?
With breaks in between each line?
This made me rage all the time when i used to play it, i'd shoot directly at a guy even close range with a shotty and i'd get no hit detection for the first few second's. Then one day i rewatched myself in theater then i raged even harder.
I also noticed that in death cams I never see myself shooting despite the fact that I was on my end. This explains it.
I think CoD does a decent job of covering up minor lag, back when CoD4 came out I was playing for a few months before I realised how much lag plays a part in how well you do, then I got pissed off and refused to play for a few weeks.
Then I started playing again.
I notice this shit every now and again in black ops, kind of annoying but it's not a constant thing, I'm guessing it would be more noticeable with people who have shittier connections.
Doubt I'd even bother to play then if it was happening all the time
I'm sorry, but what exactly is the problem here? Of course you can't be exactly up to date with the server, it's physically impossible. Now I've never really played CoD games, but that looks like some pretty standard lag compensation. In the example where he popped out of the corner, shot a couple rounds at the guy and then died, he probably just had a higher ping than the other guy, so while they probably started shooting at about the same time the server registered the other guys' shots first.
That's just one of the disadvantages of lag compensation, but without it, high-ping players would be in an even much worse situation.
Actually, there's a really nasty tactic I've learned in TF2 that exploits the lag compensation. As a sniper fighting against another sniper, don't stand still aiming at where you think the other guy will come out of the cover, you should be doing just the opposite while your opponent hopefully tries to do that. If you pop out of the corner and there's the other sniper standing still, you'll be able to see him instantly as he gets in your view (he's standing still, he's been at that spot for a few seconds already), while he'll see you only after a short delay that takes for the information about your movement to get to the server and then to his computer. If you can line up your shot quicker than that delay takes, the kill is yours.
Not that I'm any good at sniping, it doesn't always work out for me, but it's been effectively used against me many times.
Yeah this shit is quite annoying, though I feel like it was worse on MW2.
Metal Gear Online has infamous lag and it fucking has dedicated servers.
I wish we'd get a number instead of a graphical representation of our latency on consoles, 3 bars can be anything like 80-150 or something like that.
