Because. She clearly felt that she wasn't meant to be a guy. Physically a guy, mentally a woman. She got treatment to become a girl, which is what she wanted. Nothing at all wrong with it. And as you can see hormone treatment is very effective.
As zondac said, it's always complicated. You'd probably not bother to care or attempt to understand anyway so I'm not going to go any deeper into it.

She literally changed everything about herself to be what she felt like being. That requires A LOT of effort. Once you've changed your whole life for something, then someone comes and goes all "well, lol, you're still a guy" it must feel pretty fucking terrible.
