Welcome to the Thrash Metal Megathread, for everything and anything "Thrash", now before we get to the bands, we must start with a little lesson:

[b]Definition Of Thrash Metal:[/b]

Thrash Metal is a subgenre of Heavy Metal derived from NWOBHM and/or Speed Metal mixed with Hardcore Punk elements, creating the fast tempos and aggression this subgenre is known for, common Thrash Metal songs have fast, percussive and low-register guitar riffs, overlaid with shredding-style lead work, and lyrics often deal with social issues using visceral and blunt language, Thrash Metal is famously known for the "North American Big Four" (Anthrax, Megadeth, Metallica, and Slayer), and the "Teutonic Thrash Triangle" (Sodom, Kreator, and Destruction) who simultanenously created and popularized this subgenre in the 80's.

Today, Thrash has made a big comeback with the old bands releasing new material, and the new bands that have managed to find a foothold in the mainstream world.

[b]Regional Scenes Of Thrash Metal:[/b]

Thrash Metal had many scenes with their own unique sound, here are the three major scenes.

[u]Bay Area Thrash Scene:[/u] Known for it's more progressive and technical sound.

[u]East Coast Thrash Scene:[/u] Known for it's bigger emphasis on aggression and speed, and Hardcore Punk's bigger influence in it's sound.

[u]Teutonic Thrash Scene:[/u] Known for it's perfect balance of speed, aggression, and technicality, the vocals also tend to have more growl.

Awesome thread. Just a suggestion though. You should probably label the vids with band name/song name instead of just a wall of links. Maybe even put a little bio about their significance in the Thrash scene or organize them into the regions you explained.

Some more good bands are Heathen, Exhorder, Vio-Lence, Toxik, Tankard ( Alcoholic Thrash Metal :D ), death angel,...... too much good bands

I've been listening to Kreator's newest albums lately, [i]Enemy of God[/i] and [i]Hordes of Chaos[/i]. They're both badass.

In fact, I need some more bands like Kreator, especially the vocal style (shouting/screaming while not being obnoxious and relatively understandable)

It's obvious that I mean their first album AS Pantera...

They have some thrashy songs but they are by far dominated by Groove.
