For you beginners, who don't know much about drifting,it's basically keeping control of your car going sideways. like this: Do you go drifting sometimes? How much do tires cost? What car do you like use for it? Tell me your secrets,User.
I like to tray drift my FWD Honda in Mcdonalds car parks :downs:
I've had my rx7 sideways a few times but never professionally. However the previous owner was setting it up for competition drifting and i haven't changed anything, so it's all setup aside from tires.
I've had my volvo sideways today actually in a wet roundabout :v:
How much harder does an open diff make drifting? Cause I've seen some pretty impressive open diff drifting videos but obviously a welded diff is better.

I'd totally get into drifting. I just need something RWD and manual first. Like a 240. But don't think I wouldn't drift the shit out of something unorthodox. [del]inb4 Chevette SR20 drift video[/del] Actually I'd really like to see that

For a 150hp ka24e s13 coupe, next to nothing for used tires. 3. What car do I like to use to drift? S-chassis', fc rx7's, lexus sc's, older 3-series bimmers... 3b. What car do you need to drift? Anything RWD. notice I didnt say anything about manual, although this makes things 47347273487386 TIMES EASIER, there are crazy japanese people drifting 700hp auto toyota aristos

i like to drifting. it does pretty cool and doesnt afraid of anything
it is fun to overtake sideways
Ehh I ran drag radials / shit all-seasons on a SW20 so I never could get into drifting that much Don't really understand the charm
If I get your avatar right, you own a first gen MR2. You can't drift that car really. Try doing it in an FR, it's alot more fun.
I have all FWD cars, can't really do drifting in those. :frown:
You can drift in anything. FR layout just dominates the class, is all.
wrx is best doriftu
I'd like to try it in my VW, just to see what comes of it.
I rarely drift. Always ended up spinning out.
i shall do tyte snow drift in winter
Yeah, my auto 4x4 Explorer doesn't do well on dry pavement. Must wait for winter :/
I might go drifting this weekend.
I only drift if I'm showboating while I'm autocrossing, or if I've already lost the time attack and I don't care anymore.
For all you FWDers out there:
Tray Drifting!
Stick some plastic McDonalds trays under the back wheels, engage handbrake, and drift!
its practically impossible to drift a fwd car, you cant keep momentum because you cant put any power down or it will pull itself out of the drift
Practically, maybe. But not completely. There were a lot of pros using FWD until they realised that it was stupid and that RWD was the bee's knees.
it's more or less impossible to get my daily driver sideways 3.5 ton SUV with all time 4WD, doesn't really like going sideways. the Cadillac CTS i have is a different story...
its practically impossible to drift a fwd car, you cant keep momentum because you cant put any power down or it will pull itself out of the drift
unless of course you deliberately make the rear wheels useless via plastic trays
need like 8 trays to do it for a while [editline]25th May 2011[/editline] go to cigarette addicted kid at BK yo ill give you a blacknmild for some trays niggaw leave with 20 trays and 1 less black
i shall do tyte snow drift in winter
I was with my brother when he had our other old Astro I think two winters ago, and we ended up in someones front yard doing that.

Me and a friend jacked two trays from a pizza place in a mall just to try this. He walked out first with it hidden under his shirt, I went 15 minutes later. Yeah, plastic trays, big whoop, but still. Then almost got the cops called on us while we (stupidly) did it in a church parking lot.
