Take a video of the spiders moving about a box with scaled dimensions of the room one you plan to project in (depending on how big you want the spiders to look). Set up a series of projectors and play the video back via the projectors in the full-scale room.

And wouldn't this only work from the one angle?
Should be believable from most frontal angles, extreme side on angles will reveal it, however.
They totally should have hooked a mic up to the tank originally, recorded the audio of them pitter pattering around, stepped it down in pitch some and blasted it out of some speakers and subs inside the room while the playback is on.
I think I would have a heart attack if I saw that.
Looks cool, but they should slow down the footage of the spiders so they move a bit more realistic.
Not enough terrified reactions from innocent bystanders.

Well that is the realistic speed of spiders. Maybe you are referring to the huge slow spiders that Hollywood has taught you to believe
