Wouldn't his roof cover fall off in case of wind?
Nyet. Almost all huts of this manner rely on them being sewn down with mud or some matter of twine. Or combination of both.
Where did he learn those skills anyway
If the past ten thousand years are any indication, a lot of trial and error and a lot of patience.
Holy shit I thought he did this in just a few days, but the description says:
Broad leaves were initially used as thatch which worked well for about four months before starting to rot.
What does this guy do for a living?
that is AWESOME! He built his own mothafuckin chimney. I need to get lost in the woods now.

Seems like whatever the fuck he wants.
It took him 9 months from start to finish, but he said he could've done everything in 1 month.
I recommend checking his other stuff on his channel, really interesting to look at!
Life uh...finds a way.
If I were to find myself trapped on an uncharted island, I'd want this guy with me.
This guy knew he didn't have to explain shit. A compliment in the west is calling a male a man, the next level above that is a savage.
What does he do to the mud to make it harden like clay? Just let it dry?
This dude knows how to fucking live.
I'd love to do that.

I didn't see him do that though. Did I miss it?
What does he do to the mud to make it harden like clay? Just let it dry?
He was lighting a lot of fires as well, that may have had something to do with it.

as you can see the wall is very brittle, he probably just let it dry. the clay things he made very obviously hardened with fire tho
Here's another from the same guy

Something rewarding as hell being able to do shit like this.
Mad respect to him.
rust is coming along nicely
Next he needs to build door and start agriculture there.
[editline]20th June 2015[/editline]
And find permanent resident there :v:
That's fucking awesome. Y'know, I wonder how far someone could get technologically starting literally from scratch.
Damn, looking at this guy's videos you can see he gets more muscly over time. Living in the woods seems like a good workout.

He built something better than most Africans do
where is this guy?
I've always wanted to do that as a kid
Maybe during the Fall I will go out into the woods and give this a go
Pfft. I bet it doesn't even have WiFi
i'm too afraid of spiders and other stinging/biting things to live in the wilderness.
at least trap me somewhere cold.

thats not the least thing to worry about too
you got nothing but wood to put your back on or the ground it self
so its your choice to get splinters or lay down in dirt.
