that was a pretty sick jump tbh
i used to have so much fun with this game, i think there was a survival mode against the cops or something, and there was a level with some pits that were just deep enough for your head to be level with the ground. i would just sit in one and the cops would just constantly zoom over the pit at 200 mph, crashing into each other over and over like a demolition derby trying to get at me
I remember thinking that the PC version of Driv3r was extremely ~next gen~, now it just looks like some random cellphone game made in Unity
man driv3r is so fucking bad, me and my gf picked it up again last week and took turns to made stupid replays in free roam while the other one looks away and it's just a motion blur mess of face closeups and ridiculous glitches
hours of fun to be had with a friend
tbh though back in the day i did used to think the replay editor was genuinely impressive, idk how because the glitches and horrible graphics are pretty much inexcusable even for the time

Holy shit the police car that flips like 50 times for no reason at all, I'm dying.
Realising that Driv-3-Err was only out for like 2 years when this video was released makes me remember just how old youtube is.
It feels wrong, man.
speaking of obligatory, this is an absolutely mandatory Driver 3 video

All this makes me want to read what little I can about driv3rgate.
E. It's also fucking weird how the same studio can release such a great game as Stuntman, then turn around and release this glob of horse chism.

get the fuck outta here man driv3r was fucking boss
The worst part of Driv3r is the title.
And the campaign.
But mostly the title.
I thought it was a solid game. I remember playing a lot in sandbox.
I fucking loved this game.
Driver 3 is amazing

Did you ever find the secret go kart area? I had such a fun time finding that on my own, GTA had nothing like that. I also loved how you could just enable cheats just before playing, I really needed the unlimited ammo and health.
Also the Tommy Vermicelly (I was in Italy and Verme = Worm, so I always thought they were called WORM TOMMYES)

Some features of Driv3r were really ahead of stuff like GTA SA. The car paint shader looks nice, vehicle damage is great and sometimes the ped physics also work okay. But then there's shit like the character animations which is just abominable. It's a shame the game didn't reach its potential due to its troubled development history, some of the technology would have been amazing at the time, if it had all come together in the end
What if Helix Snake developed a game
It had it's charm, but for me it was ruined by indestructible light poles. Also, the police screaming "hands up" and "you're under arrest" while blasting 10 rounds a second with their guns.

If you watch the "making of" video in the extras menu, it's really amazing what they were able to do with the PS2's processing power in terms of vehicle damage and particle physics. Driver 3 was really really good at letting you blow up bits of cars and shooting off bumpers instead of just the whole thing getting crushed like the earlier Driver games. I remember watching in rapt awe as I could shoot out one or two of my car's tires, then as I drove the rubber would wear off until I was driving on nothing but rim. That shit was fucking amazing for the PS2.
Driver 3 was such a colossal disaster but I loved it so much.
I know that the game launched like, half a year early and was unfinished, but how the fuck does nothing work properly in Drivthreeer? I'd expect colossal bugs but not for like, vehicles to just phase through things almost every time.
YOU ARE UNDER ARREST
That cop that jumped the bridge was DETERMINED.
