The PC iteration will be the most visually impressive version of GTA 5, according to CVG's latest hands-on account. GTA 5 will run at 4K resolution on PC, and all 'next gen' versions of the game will include a fully-supported first person mode, complete with modeled car interiors and first-person shooting.
I already packed, ready to move in to Los Santos!
So it's actually confirmed now.
Hype has reached critical levels
Consoles appear to be locked to 30fps as well, looks like PC will end up being the only version to run at 60fps.
Edit: I really hope they announce a custom music radio for PC at some point. There really is nothing like breaking the law in game to the tune of AC/DC. Especially this song

Hoping for 1080p, 60fps, and 3D on the PS4.
Finally, this is the game we were promised.
(And I'm going to buy it again because I'm a little bitch)
e: I mean quality and feature-wise, they've drastically improved the game
Oh boy fucking 60FPS first person videos of GTA 5 on youtube
I can't fucking hold it in
Finally, this is the game we were promised.

No it wasn't. There was never any promise of any first person mode or 4k resolution on the old consoles.
i just creamed my pants
It's confirmed 1080p30 on PS4.
I also advise that everyone check out the trailer on IGN's site. It's the best looking game this gen by far, and it's a remaster.
looks like it was worth the wait.
Hope first person mode includes camera shaking uncontrollably at random intervals when playing Trevor.
First-person mode is the big change. It's not just a case of plonking a new camera within a character's head, just because they could, but an extensive rework of the game's movement, driving and targeting engines. There are thousands of new animations for gun reloading alone, no to mention the first-person views of parachuting, carjacking etc.
A particularly fine moment is being run over by a speeding truck in first-person, watching the world rotate and blur, like tipping your head back on a rollercoaster. Peer down with the right stick and you can see your feet, your body and even your phone, now a full 3D object, not a 2D icon. Selfies have never looked more stupidly real, even if character's faces are still a fissure below the uncanny valley, with the ability to blush, raise eyebrows and other relative subtleties.
So hyped
Will the cutscenes be first person?
Holy hell. First person shooting in a GTA game?
Fucking top notch. I will definitely buy this, ain't no doubt about it.
Will the cutscenes be first person?
Of course not. That would require completely recreating some of them.
I wish they'd release the system requirements, I'm not sure I'll be able to get anything better than a 660Ti before it comes out
I don't get the idea of "4k" support for PC's, when most decent games allow for arbitrary resolutions. My only idea is that it has good HUD scaling for those resolutions.
1st day buy guarantee
Now the weapon sights will have a solid purpose. Sooooo hyped

Well it's about the game properly upscaling to that level and not stretching in bizarre ways.

I'm just hoping it's the same team that did the PC version of Max Payne 3, that was amazing.
Well it's about the game properly upscaling to that level and not stretching in bizarre ways.
most modern games don't do that
from what i can remember, GTA 4 can do 4k scaling perfectly (and even to my 21:9 aspect ratios)
Of course not. That would require completely recreating some of them.
It would be neat to see MGS3/4 style cutscenes where you can go into first person at random moments
its almost like rockstar has realised how large the pc gaming market is and is now finally respecting it

It seems to me that it's more like devs reassuring everyone that they haven't done something stupid like lock it to 720p.
I was already set on buying GTA5 again; but that first person mode looks amazing. I'm getting hyped.

When HD resolutions were first becoming standard we had the whole "HD support" phase for a short while. It is likely something to do with UI scaling seeing as playing old games on modern screens gives you fuck-nasty UI scaling today.
After seeing a video of GTA V in first person, I have to say I'm impressed, I never expected it to work as well as it does. Though Rockstar did basically rebuild a small part of the game to pull it off, so it's not too surprising it works well.
I don't know if this is brilliance or blasphemy, and this is coming from someone who places FPS' as godlike.

Suggesting they didnt know this before.
It's just simple economics. They have to please their shareholders, and squeeze every drop of money from the market.
It's normal they release it on old consoles first, then next gens then PC and then make up with new features and functions.
