Read the gawdamn title. Basically, stories or the history of your army, to spice up games and give them more character. Here's mine, I made it when I saw Recon's, roughly 5-10 minutes ago. It's probably boring as all hell but I think it gives an idea.
Two scientists looked a petri dish. It was old, obviously a testament to the low budget the group was given, which they had to make do with. Around the dish was a bleak surrounding; walls caked with beer, moss and rust, a ceiling fan that stopped working weeks ago, and two sweating scientists, green masks covering the lower halves of their faces as they toiled. Both of them were experts in their field, despite the pathetic surroundings. One of them was called Erlend, hailing from Oslo, Norway. His eyes were sharp and cunning, the look of a hardened biologist, and on a lesser scale, horticulturalist. But they weren't working on making tomatoes tastier in the disgusting lab. Inside the test tube were genes from multiple species. Hedychium gardnerianum, an invasive herb, Lythrum salicaria, another invasive species. There were also genes mixed in from common vines, grasses and poisonous flowers for good measure. The mix looked a bit like urine, swishing around the dish as the microscope and the instruments attached to it worked. The other man was named Eric. He hails from the United States. High scores in all of his public schooling, and obtained multiple degrees in university, but quickly became unknown, his work ethic too erratic for employers to want him. Neither of the two masked biologists said anything as they worked, Erland not having moved his eyes away from the relatively archaic microscope for half an hour, and Eric flipping through multiple books and occasionally peering to labeled plant samples. They'd been working on a hit-and-miss basis. Mixing genes and chemicals together, known and lesser known ones, to see if something, anything would happen. They'd been running on bought time, almost literally, for the past year, and soon they wouldn't even have the decrepit shack they worked in anymore. They both knew they had only days to get a result or their careers were over. And they were so close. An eyedropped sent a tear-drop shaped sphere of potassium into the petri dish, displacing the yellow mix for a few seconds. It landed in the center of the cloudy mix, and Erland stopped for a moment. Eric peered over, the sound of dials turning having ceased. "What's wrong?" "One of those seeds." Eric knew what he was talking about, taking a grass seed out of a bag and putting it in an outstretched hand, one covered in latex. Plop, in it went. "Yes. . ." Within seconds, the mixture was a light, red color, it exploded to the edges of the dish, and grass began to grow. Red grass. It spilled over the edges of the container and stopped, as there was no more soil, or water. In the middle of a dirty, condemned shed in New York City, two scientists created the world's first agricultural weapon.
Intresting. As soon as im not busy, I'l post up Serria.Corps story of creation.
Mind aswell repost this here, not an actual army, but..
CS-RV001-TI: A military AI project integrated into a combat ready drone as a experiment for an new generation of cybernetic soldiers that could think independently and follow orders without question and have new improved path-finding to remove the latest issue of the drones falling over mid-combat and crushing it's opponents. The subject was released on a test course, given a prototype Magnetic-Acceleration-Cannon or "MAC" to fight robotic dummies, after release the bot quickly disappeared into the forest and eliminated all target, but when ordered to come back it stopped responding, after a 3 hour search of the course, they found the drone grafting paintings on a tree and the guards, puzzled brought the drone back to the base where it, when examined by the lead scientist it asked: "Do I have a soul?" The scientist replied "What did you just say?" The robot repeated:"Do I have a Soul?" The scientist: "Organics have souls, you don't you're a machine, a hunk of metal" The proceeded to deactivate it, he informed the guards to keep a close look on it, then left for the night, letting the metal being stand in the middle of the room. During that night it reactivated, snook past the guards and climbed onto of the roof of the facility and sat watching the night sky for the next days before they found it again, where they constraint it it a titanium holding cell and they peppered to whipe out it's memory as fascinating as the AI was, this was a military project and they can't have the unit go rouge in the middle of a war, they left it once again in the darkness of the room, alone. The next morning they found the room empty, no sign of the unit, the MAC gun was also missing along with a few guards, everyone knowing of the unit was killed and the facility burned down a week later. The unit walked around on the world it was created on, looking for a reason to live, a sing that, even it, had a soul, despite of what it's creators said.
I might make my Russian squads story. Or metalloid. I don't know. Metalloid would be somewhat easy, but could be deeper. Maybe we should post a character or sprite from our sheet so that everyone knows who we are talking about?
Actually, that's a good idea. [editline]02:29AM[/editline] Alright, added a small picture to give a vague idea of the thing I'm talking about. It's fail, but meh.
Cold, Dark, Alone He could feel every touch on it's body. He had no sight. He imagines a dark lab room with himself lying on a table. The scientists doing surgery on his leg as planned. But then he remembered the shot. This wasn't the clear liquid that you normally see. This was bright, bright red. They had stuck the needle in him, much to his dismay. He felt a cold energy coursing through his veins. Everything went black. The last thing he saw was what looked like a military general, smirking. He couldn't breath. He couldn't move. Then the lights turned on. It looked like a television set had been turned on. Everything was black and white. He couldn't feel anything except his head. A scientist walked up to his open eye with the General in tow. He tried asking them what was going on, but discovered his mouth was not moving. He tried thinking it. What is going on! The General stopped. He heard a voice, but could not decipher it's origin. "You've become an experiment for a private corporation called "Vex scientific" is the name. I'm sorry to tell you this, but everything you remember... is a lie." What? But I have a wife... and three kids! He was sure they were real, he couldn't just be some military experiment. It was too real! The general walked away, coming back with a mirror. "I think it would be easier if you saw for yourself." He looked into the mirror. All he saw was a giant metal ball. With one glowing eye looking right back at him. He looked left; it looked left. He looked right; it looked right. This couldn't be happening. NOOOOOOO!!! He thought. The building rumbled. He struggled. There was nothing to struggle with. He had no arms... no legs... no nothing. He tried moving anyway. He did. Suddenly he felt free. He wanted revenge more than anything he had ever wanted. If he had ever wanted anything, this was it. He pushed forward. He moved forward. Tried to do anything with his arms that would kill whoever was in front of him. He lost track of what his eye was seeing. He calmed down. There was blood. Everywhere. There were the disfigured remains of his captors. He felt better. He had to escape. He couldn't go home. He had no home. He would have to live on the run. And learn how to live again. Start a new life. Try and make this one work better than the last one.
Not very good, but readable.
Awesome, now i can finally explain my Squishlings in detail. [editline]04:58PM[/editline] Way before the earth ever existed there was an abnormally large meteor that powered through space like a hot knife through butter. on this rock were many strange bacteria, fungus and microrganisms, many of them kept to themselves until finally there bit of the meteor broke off and went colliding with a planet, which they would then, over billions of years. form creatures on that planet, one of these microrganisms was very strange, even though organisms this small never had brains of any kind, this microrganism seemed to give off a kind of emotion, the first squishling organisms... About 1 billion years later that very bit of rock the squishling organism resided broke off, and then broke again. and again. and again. the biggest piece of rock however collided with earth... Present day... As the squishlings evolved over the billions of years that followed, they sank into the ground. today you can even find billions of years old dead squishling matter hundreds of miles below sea level. the fully evolved living squishlings however, live just below sea level. and as their colonies expanded. so did their courage until they finally got the guts to venture out of their caves, and meet earthlings for the first time, nicknaming the residents of earth 'Hoomans' they strove to make a lasting friendship with them, the high leaders of the squishlings, the 'Controllers' are very corrupt and live up to the stereotype that all Alien beings want to destroy humans, luckily the squishlings are very resilient and if you ever see one, dont shoot it. after all it only wants a hug. :3: Over the billions of years the Squishlings evolved into many types of organism the list of these is below. Squishling Microrganism 7 Billion Years Ago Squishling Matter 5 Billion Years Ago Squirmers 4.34 Billion Years Ago Spawners 4 Billion Years Ago Squishlings 3.23 Billion Years Ago Squeezers 2.9 Billion Years Ago Controllers 2.64 Billion Years Ago Squealers 2.4 Billion Years Ago Squashers 1 Billion Years Ago Squeemers 0.3 Billion Years Ago (A Small Arachnid like race that grows into beastly monstrosoties) SquishLords Unknown Years Ago Squishlings have no brains or organs, they are nothing more than intelligent purple matter, and remember. next time you see one, give him a big hug. :3:
Or,go predator and own him.
In Early Second age 3rd year 2 soldiers were patroling the outer Desert for intruder when they were diverted from Standard procedure, told to put gas masks and get to a Meteor impact site ASAP what they found would reverse the tide of the Civil war and Hand them the world. Named after their god Hick, they christened the Battle machines they made from 1 probe the HickBots. The God Warriors. The Hickbots have been off station since the Siege of Trug city. So many new people coming to the fourm :P
So many bad sprites coming to the fourm :P
Fixed* But yes, alot of new people also.
No creeding,it doesnt need fixing, its not typo. I mean that 0.o THe bad sprite bit is true, though.
New people make New sprites Good or Bad, it means new Blood. And if that was Directed at me I think my Sprites are pretty fucking good
Hick,i never said it was at you...I was just saying. And most people think theyre sprtes are good... Its the question if other people like them
Do people like my Sprites? :ohdear:
/sniff /sniff I smell derailing. . .!
"Steamies" Nobody knows who made them or where they came from, they just come walking along and takes anything they can find to use as fuel then keep on walking, as they have, for millions of years, until they walk into something unmovable or indestructible, in which case, they will simply stand there until they run out of fuel when they will shut down. They seem to have some means of communicating as they let out metallic groans when something gets in it's path and respond to other groans from their follows, they do not seem to understand any known language not have any capability of learning it as they seem brainless as they keep wandering. In other news: I'm bored.
I like the hickbot's. Also, creeding you sound like an arrogant bastard to be fair.
Oh he is. And he sux at spriting too.
I like the hickbot's. Also, creeding you sound like an arrogant bastard to be fair.
I am, thanks for noticing. [editline]08:10PM[/editline] My standards are way to high for FP... to much time on LiF.
Creeding is greeding?
I am, thanks for noticing. [editline]08:10PM[/editline] My standards are way to high for FP... to much time on LiF.
LiF?

In 1973, two young scientists created a strange, metallic liquid that they called "Metaliconic". For years they hid it away, not knowing what to do with it until one day they had an idea to create a new race, a new, powerful being. They set to work, limb by limb, they created a machine. When the body was finished, Jack Allinson, one of the scientists, placed a small chip into the back of the androids head. He then tapped a few buttons and the android came to life. After 5 minutes of examining the room, the android swiftly pulled a steel pipe off the wall and smashed it into Kay Greenson's (The other scientist) head. The android then dropped the blood-stained pipe onto the floor... Jack laughed, he was part of Wolfe Co, an organisation that built machines that tried to conquer the Earth, all of the machines, however failed in doing so, but now, thanks to Jack, the world has a whole new enemy to fight. I was bored :P

The Ceres My new robotic armies backstory. Hope you enjoy it.
The Ceres. A once masterful guild of phycics, now reduced to hiding behind the metal chassis of their robotic droids. Their frail bones could hardly stand the tides of war, hence the construction of such wonderfull comtraptions. Forced into hiding by an phycicly attuned alien race, bent of destroying all others with such ability. After centrys of fighting, the guild could not sustain such a campaghin any longer, hence the creation of the droids. Building monolithic cylinders witch rose beyond the clouds and traveld into the depths of the earth, they stayed hidden under the wacthfull eye of there metalic gurdians. The war still carrys of to this day, but with a fatefull twist, a civil war amoungs the guild. Split into many houses, they fight for many an ideal, be it to destroy the race witch has plauged them for so long, to run, hide and avoid conflict with anyone stronger or simply to reunite the guild and its houses. Many have chosen to detach from the guild and its houses compleatly, taking there armys with them these sepratists fight petty battles with each other. The guild and its houses are spread few and far between in this galaxy, soon to be extinct and to have the story lost in the long catacombs of time.
Reminds me of Necrons mixed with.. Well, you stuff. :v:
Reminds me of eldar form W40K
The Ceres My new robotic armies backstory. Hope you enjoy it.
What about the other guys? They were awesome.
The White Ones' story; One lone man, together with a band of helpers, cut a swath through the rough Northlands, creating a massive army. Over time, more armies joined, eventually creating a vast armada. The army divided into two parts, one, a vast sea fleet. The upper ranks, such as the lieutenants and the emperor, sailed in mighty dirigibles. A vast storm separated the armada, the most successful sailing to a southern extension of the Northlands. Their future is unknown...
