If you go on the Google homepage and press "I'm feeling lucky" without typing anything, a countdown appears. Any idea what its for?
google it? [editline]05:20PM[/editline] hmm. chrome os maybe?
Its not happening for me. Maybe it has to do with the wasted energy they are using to search for nothing for you. Look at the topic at the top of image.
Google Takeover. Droids explode
Probably seconds left in the year
It is seconds left in the year.
You have super cancer and that is a countdown for your death
Probably seconds left in the year
Seems to be it.
It's probably not time, because it goes up to 100 instead of 60. Decimal time? Remind sme of Asimov's fictional planet Aurora, where minutes had 100 seconds, and hours had 100 minutes, and days had 10 hours.
hmm, his says 1484742, mine says 1494647... a larger number, so ima go with eliteguy, either seconds left in the year, or till christmas. My calculation says there are approx 1296000 seconds left in the year.
-snip- it ends January 17-18 depending on time zone. i'm not sure if i'm right though
I got it too Something in 17 days, 3 hours and 30 minutes or so Any ideas? Oh, I feel dumb, new years
How odd :crossarms:
It's probably not time, because it goes up to 100 instead of 60. Decimal time? Remind sme of Asimov's fictional planet Aurora, where minutes had 100 seconds, and hours had 100 minutes, and days had 10 hours.
There can be 100 seconds left in a year. I.E there are 1min 40sec left expressed as 60+40=100
That's 17 days, so it's the year. Edit: Beaten
So lets calculate it's 1492370 we could divide by 60 to find out a more specific time and get a better idea
Who cares. Seriously, who gives a fuck that there's a timer.
second left till google take over the world
Who cares. Seriously, who gives a fuck that there's a timer.
This is Facepunch, we all care, even if its just the slightest amount. Anyways, I'm going with seconds left in the year
1484725 seconds /60 = 24745 minutes /60 = 412 hours /24 = 17 days (Christmas)
1492023 seconds / 60 = 24867.05 minutes / 60 = 414.4508333_ hours /24 = 17.2687847222_ days Exactly 17 days, 16 hours, 7 minutes and 38 seconds.
1492023 seconds / 60 = 24867.05 minutes / 60 = 414.4508333_ hours /24 = 17.2687847222_ days About 17 days, 16 hours, 7 minutes and 38 seconds.
Hugging owned.
Now we can all look forward to christmas
its new years.
Google Wave :D
Tested it at midnight, UK time, and pretty sure it is New Years, probably just a countdown or maybe they are rolling something new out then.
goole is crap anyway, use bing
goole is crap anyway, use bing
Name a few reasons.
It's the death toll for Googles secret 3rd country sweat shops.
Name a few reasons.
Because microsoft had fancy add campaigns claiming Bing would do everything, including tell time! Even though it turned out to be the exact same thing as any other search engine, just more annoying.
