Nvidia has been especially quite since their timeline for the 800 series apparently slipped into 2015.

I'm really excited for the future because the next gen hardware is finally coming out.

It's not gaining ground, the gains were for the most part minimal, and there are non-AMD options out there that are way more widespread (DX, OpenGL).
I really like Tek Syndicate, I've been watching Tech Update since TigerDirect, but to be honest their latest shows are getting a bit too reddit-NSA-circlejerky for me. Plus I miss Maks. Maks was the boss.
AMD is great for cheap builds. Also they overclock really well. But per-core performance, Intel is winning.
Great camera work!

Amd are being the good guys offering free sync and Mantle support while Nvidia is holding exclusivity on many of their tools for developers under the Nvidia Game Works system.

I'm just not convinced by some of the things he says when it comes to...well, a lot of things, but like the net neutrality video they did a while back? I was more interested in the guy behind the monitors and what he was talking about when it came to VPN's than anything the main guy had to say.

I stopped watching them after their ridiculous "benchmarks" on the fx-8350 (oc'ed to 5.0GHz) more than doubling framerates over a 3570K (OC'ed to 4.5GHz) on GPU-intensive games. The thermal paste video is forgivable for a first build, but those benchmarks on the fx-8350 were a complete joke. I simply can't trust a review site after something like that. If anybody is curious, the video was: http://youtu.be/4et7kDGSRfc check 7:10 and 7:22 for two examples in the video. Keep in mind the fx-8350 can't even beat the 3570k on video encoding which is like the best case where more cores help performance.

He seems to have a more reactionary personality. The guy behind the camera (wendell) is much more level headed and knowledgeable about the subjects on the show. I think the dynamic works well but Logan needs to do some more research other than 'look at the front page of /r/technology'.
Because it's free and there's nothing to lose by doing it? Better game performance is good for everyone involved.
It's not "free", implementing an entirely new API would require a lot of work. OpenGL is open source and AMD still has pretty shitty OpenGL support despite of it being free. Even AMD only supports Mantle on their newest GPU architecture.
