Egyptian police said Saturday they have arrested four students who filmed themselves publicly dancing in their underwear, as more people around the world emulate a viral dance craze called the "Harlem Shake."
It's hilarious how fast this died.
viral dance craze
Can we just not acknowledge it anymore?
only 4? but there were like, hundreds in the video
no fun allowed
our graduation class suggested we do one for graduation, and someone said:
Also, I guarantee in a couple months, Harlem shake will be outdated and not popular anymore.
:v:
It's hilarious how fast this died.
It was right after Gangnam Style. Ofcourse, it would die so fast.
no fun allowed
They were dancing around in public in their ungergarments, so that probably counts towards public indecency laws.
No-one in their right mind would arrest someone because they were making a harlem shake video unless they were damaging/potentially damaging property.

Except it took a week not even.

all out prohibition of underwear

Gangnam style died slower since it took some form of 'effort' to create a video for it.
Harlem shake requires no effort other than making sure you don't move the camera.

Does this mean the south park goth thing could become viral? (Goth Amumu in League of Legends does the same thing). It's just shaking heads to sides slowly
I just found out about this viral thing almost 2 days ago and you people already raised your hipster shields and loathe it to no end.
Holy shit, talk about zero tolerance :v:

So, not liking a viral something or other is hipster now?
So, not liking a viral something or other is hipster now?
FP doesn't like viral anything. As soon as something goes viral it will be disliked here.

Facepunch is not a hive mind
FP doesn't like viral anything. As soon as something goes viral it will be disliked here.
its because it results in a torrential avalanche of unfunny zero effort content
So, not liking a viral something or other is hipster now?
Hating on something as soon as it becomes mainstream? That's its textbook definition
Or maybe it's because it spawned so many shitty video remakes it wasn't even funny anymore.
They credit some Australian students with starting it, I thought it was Filthy Frank?
If it was Iran, they'd be stoned already.
It's hilarious how fast this died.
It was dead on its arrival.
Some kids at our rival school got suspended for making one, fuck if I know why.
They credit some Australian students with starting it, I thought it was Filthy Frank?
What, it was FRANKU that started it all.
Facepunch is not a hive mind
But it is composed of a ton of people who agree with each other.
Its also hilarious how everyone says this when someone brings up Facepunch liking/disliking something.
Maybe Facepunch is a hivemind, maybe Facepunch is the Zerg race
It's funny to see how you guys are all rating this winner just because you dislike harlam shake videos.
I hate them too but arresting people for it is dumb and over-reacting. Kinda sad to see facepunch will be okay with shit like this if only they ban things they don't like.

If they knew it was against the law and inappropriate should they really get sympathy?

Heres the thing, the vast majority of facepunch is supportive of public nudity according to past threads. So why ain't they saying it's wrong that they got locked up for underwear, not fined, but locked up.
Clearly facepunch is being biased because it's harlem shake.
If I understood the article, they were arrested for public indecency for prancing around in their underwear. If they knew it was against the law and inappropriate should they really get sympathy?
its a dumb law

How is public indecency a dumb law? Just wear some goddamn clothes.
