holy fucking shit those sports casters. fuck them. i have only one dream bigger than to go into a career of Archeology and that's to be a father and to raise a family, even if that means I have to give up my dream career and to hear someone shit on a father for being there for his fucking kid hits me right in the fucking gut. just fuck them, the pricks.
think about the jobs!!!!
This is the kind of feminism that I'd vow for.
I half agree with this. You should be able to get PTO's but they should still use up your vacation days and you shouldn't get extra days just because you got pregnant. I don't think jobs should be responsible for the irresponsibly of their employees. You want to have a kid , then you should probably save up your sick days and some money for the days you're gonna have to take off. Let's not forget having a kid is a choice, a choice you should be responsible for. Not your job.
I don't want to bring a bit unrelated stuff, but iirc, doesn't germany has way like if the woman wants to have kids, she will be financially supported by the goverment and her husband's pay will be bigger? I do kind of like that way. If i'm wrong, someone fix me on that.
Push that paternity leave in while you're at in John.
You're acting like having a kid is some kind of luxury Reproduction is kind of important you know
well obviously if only the rich have kids then all the underclasses die out so everyone wins in the long term
Did you legit just say having kids is irresponsible? lmao
Yes it is ,when you don't have the saved up money or the PTO's to have them.
Yes it is ,when you don't have the saved up money or the PTO's to have them.
I can't believe there are people who legitimately believe this. Newsflash, there are these things known as Employee benefits, and employer's shouldn't be able to screw female workers over after giving birth like their husbands did before having that kid.
there's nothing you can do anyway, you're not breastfeeding the kid
of COURSE he wouldn't. THE PRESENTERS ARE JOKING. THEY DON'T THINK THIS. chill out oliver has a good message but this clip was a poor choice.

Look, I'm a fan of ~dark~ ~edgy~ humor, but it has a context, and a national sport's program definitely isn't the place. And I played Football for a very long time, and while I had a lot of good times, especially when I was in the peewee league back when I was really young, there was definitely a toxic attitude from some of the coaches and players that became very evident as time went on. I once nearly died of an Asthma attack, and had to find my mother who had my inhaler, and I got yelled at by a coach for doing so because I had to stop doing laps and as a result he stood there and yelled at me and said that I need to "man up and deal with it" and that I "Disappointed and dishonored the team" by doing that. And no, I think he'd be fairly pissed off that someone should be saying he shouldn't care about his kid and should care more about a fucking sport.
A friend of mine is pregnant and she's about to go into labor soon, and she is not even able to get maternity leave because when she first got her job (which was years ago) she didn't checkmark a box on her application. And she can't change it either. Don't know what she's gonna do. Shit really sucks.
while I ha
i'm sorry you don't like their humor (i didn't think it was funny either) and i'm sorry you had a traumatic experience. i still think the usage of this clip is dishonest and i assure you there was no hate intended. why are national sports so sacred that every medium of entertainment about it should exempt using DARKEDGE humor?
Yes it is ,when you don't have the saved up money or the PTO's to have them.
So basically, you just said, and you clearly don't realize this, but you just said that poor people should never have kids. Poor people, the basis of society, aren't allowed to have kids? So how's society going to work in your world? The poor get treated like shit as it is, with every company taking every chance to remove their benefits and lower their pay and remove the availability of paid time off all together, and you're saying, they also shouldn't be allowed to have kids? What kind of world do you live in, or want to live in? [editline]13th May 2015[/editline]
the broadcasters shouldn't offend anyone, they're contributing to the atmosphere of a sports program. the point of their banter is to gin up enthusiasm for sports sports SPORTS because it's a show about a hobby and that's what they dooo. he's not dictating what daniel murphy should be doing right now, he's not "shitting on someone for being there for his fucking kid" he's going "baseball WooOOoo" do you think daniel murphy would care if he saw this? of COURSE he wouldn't. Where does it say it's a joke? Do they say it's a joke? I disagree. It wasn't a joke, and it clearly wasn't delivered like one. Do you even know what humour is? Even angry as fuck comedians deliver their shit in a funny manner. This wasn't funny, a joke, nor anything but offensive and to show that in america, sports is more important than father hood. He is dictating how Murphy should act. That's actually the only thing he did. It was just bad shit coming from a loud voice in a big american past time. If you want to ignore that that message is going to be heard and digested by people, and some people will agree with it, is just ridiculous.

Any alternative link for us in the UK?
it really is delivered like a joke. he's slapping the table, suggesting putting SPORTS above RAISING HIS OWN CHILD and they're smiling the whole time. haven't you exaggerated something about a hobby you have? or seen someone do it? "i don't want to eat, i'm playing video games" isn't about prioritizing video games over eating, it's a silly way to express love for the hobby. i can't believe some people think this presenter ACTUALLY WANTS a player's wife to HAVE A C-SECTION FOR THE SAKE OF A GAME. [editline]/[/editline] if this banter was heard live instead of chopped up on oliver's show, i don't think any of you would take from it what you did here. you'd go oh ho those silly sports broadcasters and keep living.
and some people will agree with it
so? there are even more obvious and dark jokes in an average comedian's bit that people will unironically support. PC master race

I'm not saying he can't say shit like that, I'm asking why the fuck you would because even as dark humour, it's just not a good attempt, and I say that being a die hard fan of Doug Stanhope and the like. They're sportscasters, not comedians. Smiling while saying terrible things doesn't negate the fact they're terrible or you believe them, and if I had heard it on the radio, I wouldn't have seen that smile and I definitely would have been more appalled by it. Just because they're on the radio they get a pass?
