The LHC Will Never Work Because The Higgs Can Manipulate Time
What Holger Bech Nielsen, of the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen, and Masao Ninomiya of the Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics in Kyoto, are suggesting is that the Higgs boson, the particle that physicists hope to produce with the collider, might be “abhorrent to nature”.
What does that mean? According to Nielsen, it means that the creation of the boson at some point in the future would then ripple backwards through time to put a stop to whatever it was that had created it in the first place.
This, says Nielsen, could explain why the LHC has been hit by mishaps ranging from an explosion during construction to a second big bang that followed its start-up. Whether the recent arrest of a leading physicist for alleged links with Al-Qaeda also counts is uncertain.
Oh my god...the Higgs particle is fucking with the LHC with time travel so it'll never be found.
Is it bad I find this funny because it's rated late?
What the fuck, this shit confuses me.
The OP just tried to manipulate time and failed.
The fuck, time paradox? The loop has to start somewhere.
Looks like the Higgs is already in effect.
That's not the Higgs-Boson.

That damn Higgs is fucking with us! :argh:
Wait, if this theory is true, does that mean sometime in the future we will actually create the Higgs boson? Surely it'll need to be created in order for it to stop us creating it.

I think this goes above our heads in terms of human capibility of reasoning and thinking. Perhaps some brilliant minds of IQ's over the 160 may understand a small portion of it.
Silly LHC, you have actually negated your own actions of boycotting yourself for the attempted creation of Higgs bosons to prevent the creation of Higgs bosons, because you already created them in the future to boycott yourself in the past.
Heh, stupid machines.

I think this delves into the confusing and brain-hurting realms of quantum mechanics. I guess in one variation of existence it worked, but the resulting Higgs boson ruined it for everybody else. There's always one.
So if the LHC never gets working, it's because the Higgs Boson exists?
Ironic, the LHC might discover the Higgs Boson even though it's not working. :v:
Wait, so we found a time paradox?
Fucking awesome!

its going to make a time paradox where that women in the US becomes President we are all doomed
IT MUST BE DESTROYED
We can't destroy it as we haven't found it yet.

But there would be no proof that it discovered it so :iiam:
This is due to the LHC turbopropulsing the particle over 88 miles per hour :downs:
Clever girl...
I would like to see the LHC prove these scientists wrong because honestly it sounds stupid

At the end of the article, even the scientist who created the theory says it's most likely not true, just that there's a possibility.
At the end of the article, even the scientist who created the theory says it's most likely not true, just that there's a possibility.
Exactly, it's a theory, not fact.
At the end of the article, even the scientist who created the theory says it's most likely not true, just that there's a possibility.
Theres a possibility that I could be teleported to the moon and forced to do the chicken dance by alien pirates.
Actually, "arrest of a leading physicist" for Al-Quaeda links? He was a research contractor right?
They do not look for he particle itself they look for the matter left behind after it. The Higgs particle itself will "dissolve" too quickly but once it disappears t leaves behind other particles quarks and such that can be seen.
My, the LHC really has been the center for odd doomsday theories hasn't it?
Remember when the first trains came out (you probably wouldn't rememer, whatever), and that people had these stupid theories that the blisteringly slow speed would be too fast for the human body, and that we would all die?
I know the LHC is kinda different from trains, but seriously, we need to calm the fuck down. We need to stop making stupid-ass theories about shit we don't know a thing about.
The whole point of a "theory" is that you don't know about it. If we made theories on stuff we knew was fact, it wouldn't be a theory.

Scientifically speaking you're talking about hypothesis.
