Not only did she steal them, she made them not even remotely funny which is an even worse crime.
how to tell other people's jokes but more shittiliy
She fuckin butchered those jokes.
A comedian telling other people's jokes isn't bad.
but
Doing it for your comedy special, and butchering the jokes without giving credit is the scummiest thing a comedian can do. This is why people hate Dane Cook too.
still not as cringey as Carlos Mencia
that and the 2nd one wasn't as bad a copycat as the first

Especially since she has a history of doing so and has been called out for it.
amy schumer fucking sucks
So why is she gettin' away with this exactly, when Dane Cook got fucking crucified for it?
So why is she gettin' away with this exactly, when Dane Cook got fucking crucified for it?
Double standards (?)
So why is she gettin' away with this exactly, when Dane Cook got fucking crucified for it?
Because it's more profitable to rally around someone seen as progressive/who has deep industry connections than having universal standards.
So why is she gettin' away with this exactly, when Dane Cook got fucking crucified for it?
Some people insulted her work, she turned it into "they're insulting me because I'm a woman" and that they're "calling her fat", basically making it a big deal for activists to look at her
I don't understand how the fuck she continues having a career when she's blatantly stealing stuff from other comedians.
It just makes me angry, if you can't come up with your own material you should probably not be doing that line of work
It's literally because she's a woman. Joe Rogan tore Carlos Mencia a new asshole and is almost solely responsible for ending that hacks career. Mencia would always make weak excuses like "Maybe I heard the joke at some point and then just thought I had it as an original idea" or "there's so many acts out there, you're bound to find material similar to mine eventually."
Then Amy Schumer makes literally the exact same excuses and Joe Rogan defends her and says she's right.

Can't stand anything about Amy. She's plain not funny.
Nothing wrong with stealing jokes IMO, to some extent that's part of the process of writing material, to take the seed of an idea and put your own spin on it, since in the end, the delivery and "voice" of the joke is what matters, that's what you as the audience are hearing in the moment and if it makes you laugh, it makes you laugh.
The takeaway should simply be that Amy Schumer just isn't that funny, not that she's a monster or anything. The joke stealing is a symptom of her unfunniness, not the cause of it.

If you're with friends and want a laugh that's a different matter. When you're a comedian, and you're charging people to see you, you should be making up your own shit or at least preface a line with "So this one is from my good friend Dave Attell..." or you could set a joke up with "So Dave Attell told a joke like that goes like X..." and then continue "But it's really like Y!" with your own, new punchline.
It's literally plagiarism.

As someone who only just started following Rogan (after he had Alex Jones with that whole shitshow) I gotta say I'm kinda surprised. Joe struck me as someone who does a ton of research on each guest and holds their feet to the fire.
To see that is kinda sad but no one is perfect i guess?
Amy Schumer is not funny. Also she's fat and ugly. There, I said it.
she's fat and ugly. There, I said it.
so was Chris Farley
so was Chris Farley
Yeah but he had that funny thing going for him.

the fat and ugly bit is irrelevant though and a good way to invalidate your criticisms
that said, schumer is a terrible comedian

Good thing I wasn't writing a critique but just sprouting out my opinion as fact :<

just along the lines of the whole ghostbusters debacle, calling people out on their appearances, especially women, is a good way to get legions of people to defend someone even if they're actually terrible. probably not here on FP, but still something to consider.

What are you talking about? He's just tackling the topic from all angles. That's what Joe does.

This is different!!!!!!!!!
It would be another story if this was just a random set in NY comedy cellar or something.
But this is an immortalized special. It's not something that can be just overlooked. It's stolen credit that lasts forever.
Yeah but he had that funny thing going for him.
I'd rather have a fat ugly drug addict comedian who dies early who's actually hilarious than a fat ugly SJW-magnet shit tier comedienne who will probably live till she's 80

Of course, I agree completely but thankfully the people here can understand the joke either way.
I feel like most of her jokes are about simple life shit that a lot of people experience, and she tells it at face value. While other comedians tend to spice those stories or occurrences up, Amy just kinda states it and gets mediocre laughs. I laughed harder at the blackout timetraveling joke by Dave because it was short and sweet. He doesn't need to explain it further because the punchline of comparing it to time travelling explains itself, while Amy has to do this 20 second impression of what she's talking about in her 'own' joke. Same with Dave Chappelle, his sounds more organic, how he frames that he doesn't like being told when to cum, then talking about the arousal of it being where, and then the punchline of being told to cum in strange places and be ok with it. Whereas Schumer just sort of brings it up on its own only to say that she chose to say strange places to cum in because "im a comedian, so i chose something funny". I'm sure most of Amy fans would like whoever you put in front of them saying the same thing, she just happens to be infront of the microphone.
Idk what you guys are on about, she's a national treasure! It takes real lack of talent to be unfunny despite all your material being stolen from other people. Big kudos to her.
at the very least you could've spent the time you'd normally have spent making a joke on improving the delivery
