I'd imagine a certain "Smeghead" will be happy to host a certain British Robot Fighting show.

I hope we see more varied and interesting robots now that the tech is so much smaller and cheaper. If I remember right, most of the robots just tried to flip or poke their opponents to death, with most of their time being spent wandering around in circles trying to get in position. :v:

I thought some of the bots were really lame. The show was cool overall though.

I watched BattleBots before Celebrity Deathmatch and Jackass on MTV all the time back in the day, good times. This rules!!

I actually went to some of the live shows since they were in my city, was friends (or at least as close as friends a 6 year old can be) with the hosts and a lot of the stars. Met countless stars like Bill Nye, Carmen Electra, Gary Coleman, and Jay Leno. Knew a number of the robot builders, including one my family is still friends with because he lives across the street from us. That show WAS my 4-8 year childhood. Hell in my closet I have some wrecked parts of robots I got from a few people, including a whole 50 pound steel bar from one of the spinning robots.

I can't even contain my excitement! I hope we get to see some crazy bots like Snake. I used to even own a small, working Backlash toy.

Kinda related. When I was young (about 7 or so IIRC) my parents took me to see [b]ROBOT WARS[/b] live. It was the hypest shit you could possibly have imagined, I bought the guidebook to all of the robots with my pocket money and I saw CHAOS 2! There was a part where they called for the most dedicated fan of Robot Wars to come up, and he'd get to control a robot. I was so excited, I stood up and shouted out "Pick me!" but they didn't, they picked some kid who had Leukemia or something, I was distraught. My parents told me it'd probably been arranged beforehand, I was insulted that they hadn't asked me. Robot fighting is the hypest shit, I intend to pick up as many videos of it as I can so I can show my kids it someday.
