I remember racing around the ring before there was even terrain and it was nothing but road, where it is now really puts game development and progress into true perspective. I cannot wait for everything to be complete.
yeh there was a time, maybe earlier this year or late last year, when i was getting jaded and worried about the development - it just seemed like it got to a point where it was getting worse and worse and nothing worked properly - but they've really pulled it together
disappointed that i'm just gonna be sat on all the content until march now waiting for the v1.0 but i'm glad it's getting the time it needs to be perfected
i'm excited for both pCars and AC, but that was great trailer. the wet road shots are so good
That was an excellent trailer.
PCars is the first title in a while to truly amaze me when it comes to visuals. I can't wait to throw an Oculus on and play this
I'm seriously hoping they didn't fuck up the car sounds in this game.

Well it's the first game I've seen to get the SLS AMG moderately correct, neat.
[editline]25th October 2014[/editline]
On the other hand, the Zonda R is perfect. Hm.
It's incredible what they've achieved with this game.
Considering its origins, it puts other much less humble titles (COUGH Gran Turismo COUGH Forza) to utter shame, both graphically and in terms of physics and attention to detail.
Man why does pretty much every good PC racing title have a car library consisting of just really race adapted cars.
I want a huge library of stock factory cars from all makes and models.
Albeit a limited stock library, at least Assetto Corsa gives me that a bit.

I don't think that's the idea of project cars. You watched one trailer though, it has stock cars in it.

there's loads of stock road cars in project cars. like... loads. and lots of classic cars. like 10x what is in v1.0 of asetto corsa and this game isn't even out yet
there's road versions of every GT car (so an Audi, two Mercedes, three McLarens, two BMWs, two Austin Martins, three Porches). and as for other road cars, there's three different Zondas, two classic Fords, classic Mercedes, a Ford Focus, a Mistubishi, a Gumpert, a Bentley, a Renault, lots of road-legal track cars. i could go on
that said, it's not a game for road car fans anyway. this is like buying madden and complaining that all the football players are too professional - the game is about GT, LMP, and open-wheel racing. that's what it is

heh
assetto corsa is getting a good number of cars soon seeing as they scored a few licensing deals (namely with nissan, toyota etc.) but i still don't think it was a good move to name it 1.0 when it's nowhere near feature complete yet

Maybe Forza is more what you're looking for?

These type of games are cool but I always end up crashing into the walls or into other cars.
I am more excited for Next Car Game because flatout 1 had a mix between realism and fun. And in those games it's ok to crash into other cars.
Aahhhhhhh fuck my life
I have a triple monitor setup with the thinnest bezel you can get, great wheel/pedals and a laptop capable of running the game on 5760x1080 maxed out without a single problem...yet because I run on a laptop I don't have nVidia surround..... Fucking displayport.
So I can only play on 1 screen :suicide:

I wouldn't complain, I probably can't run this game on the lowest settings and I probably won't be able to for another 2 or so years.

How is this an answer to what I said?
My complaint was there there are no road car fan games (using your words).
I'm not complaining about Project CARS, I'm just saying I wish there was a 'road car fan' game.
Even though pCARS does have some road cars then, I didn't know. Thanks for telling me.
fairplay yeh you're right i thought that after i wrote it. sorry for being rude
but yeh it's worth checking out the road cars in pCARS. you can totally break them in the setup menu too and turn them all into drift/stunt cars too which is fun so, while the game doesn't have a drift mode or anything you can still do that stuff if you're so inclined
there's also a couple of road tracks too and with full dynamic weather and time you could do some sweet 1on1 country road races like that japanese discipline in GRID

should have gotten daisy chain capable monitors
should have gotten daisy chain capable monitors
I do. That's how I connected them. (what laptop has 3 fullhd capable outputs)
But daisy chaining and dp 1.2 works like shit.

Gran Turismo? Forza? Even Horizon has some road cars to offer.

my macbook has three 4k enabled outputs that can be used simultaneously
maybe more with daisy chaining but that may be software limited
if you have MST enabled and the monitors are 1080 you should be able to push them all properly.
Even Horizon has some road cars to offer.
i thought horizon was entirely road cars?
that said i think his point is that there's very few PC sims with road cars. pCARS has some but it's definitely not geared toward that. obviously the games you've listed are console only and, especially horizon, aren't really sims
car porn: the game
I´m thinking to get this game and it seems i barely have the proper graphics card for this.
What are some good entry-level driving wheels for this game?
I´m thinking to get this game and it seems i barely have the proper graphics card for this.
i ran it on all high/highest graphics at 1680x1050 for a couple of years using only a 2GB HD4870
What are some good entry-level driving wheels for this game?
the logitech driving force GT is pretty much the go-to entry level wheel that most people use i think. i'm not sure logitech sell it anymore but you should be able to get one on amazon for like ~£80
it doesn't have force-feedback in the pedals but the feedback from the wheel is good and it has choice between paddles and sequential stick
the next logical step up from the DFGT is more than double the price

< £100, Driving Force GT, < £200, Logitech g27
[editline]26th October 2014[/editline]
wheels keep their value quite well. so buy a driving force GT new and sell it used to get a g27 etc. later if you feel the need to
my brother reviews fanatec hardware and has a closet in his flat with like 10 wheels in it. that closet must be worth like 10k. vry jel

The problem is that nVidia doean't suppport Surround over displayport daisy chaining :(
feel free to blame nividia for their shockingly bad multiple display support
