Shit, this is moving too quickly now. And by shit I mean life.
I remember when 1999 rolled into 2000. I remember it was the first time I stayed up until midnight to do "The countdown" that my friends used to talk about at school. I was so excited, I was on one of the biggest highs of my life. I spent the day playing N64, probably a bit of Zelda and Pokemon Stadium. I was really getting into my copy of Pokemon Yellow that I got for christmas. It was pretty cool, I really loved having the Pikachu. Man, being 7 was fucking awesome. It's when you turn 8 things start to change, when you become aware of stress and real work. When things become real.
I saw a post on another thread that got me thinking, something like "A child born in the year 2000 is now ten". Wow, I remember 2000 clearly, and to think a life started then, a life that was a un-intelligent mess of noise and tears as it is delivered into the hands of proud and gleeful parents. Now the parents are probably balding (Not both of them, hopefully) and the kid is a brat yet it has emotions and feelings and memories that shall stick with it forever. Maybe one day that kid will become a member here and make a similar post to me, how as he reminisces about the times he used to play "Twilight Princess" and "Pokemon Heart Gold". In 6 years I could be meeting the love of my life, getting married, thinking about kids! While he is having his first kiss, thinking about tits. That's in no time at all. Within the next two years I will already be well into my university course and looking at my first job in the business. Life moves too fast.
As a kid I wanted to grow up to get respect, meet peoples expectations. As a teenager I'm so sick of peoples expectations as they leave me so tired. Soon I'll be working, paying debts, looking after another life. My life as a video gamer and a forum poster is slowly coming to an end. In 5 years I could be way too busy for all the stuff I get a kick out of now. Will Facepunch still be around in 2015? When I joined new members were popping out of every fucking crevice, now a few come in each month and much much fewer stick around. I can't believe how quickly things are moving. I watched a film from 2000, they had floppy disks! Fucking floppy disks! Huge tv's and computers that take up a whole continent. That's how things have changed in just ten years! Where will you be in 10 years?! Think about, really think about it! In no time at all I will be 60, have a brain full of memories and experiences. I can't fucking believe it. Things are happening too quickly. At this rate, I won't be around much longer.
TLDR: A mad man said "DRINK THIS", turns out it was a virus that makes me ride a pogo-stick down a time stream while instantly becoming old.
I'm pretty sure everyone feels like this at some point.
Or all the time. I don't know.
90's were the best handsdown.
90's were the best handsdown.
In ten years expect a lot of "2000's were the best hands-down". I would love to time travel and try out the nineties from an older perspective.
All I know is that I'm scared to death to go to college and leave all my high school buddies behind.
Dan's losing the plot
:ohdear:

Don't worry, these are the years you start to become a real individual, it's a fucking great experience.
You're going to die soon.
I'm just the opposite. I want to move forward faster. I don't like where I am now, I want to be better, know more, and be able to do more. I really would be fine with skipping the whole teen years business and going straight to knowing how to do everything I want to do.
One day at a time
That's how I roll

I think about that everytime when i wake up. God why does time goes so fast.
My life isn't going quick enough.
I remember when I turned 18, I was all "What the fuck this is going waay too fast"
I hate thinking about this before I go to sleep, it gets stuck inside of my head, and I can't sleep because I'm afraid of losing everything I have right now, all the fun I'm having.
Just forget about it, and enjoy your life as much as you can.
It has been in my observation a terrible twist in perspectives as I've gotten older.
When I was a kid, up to around 12 or 13, time moved by so slowly and the 3 month summer vacation felt more like a year. But when I came into the latter time of my life, though it has been a short 17 years, I've noticed that things move so much faster. I am, as I said, 17 years old, I am going to be a senior in High School come September. I still can't wrap my head around that concept.
Tl;dr - I agree with OP
Edit: Also I think about this alot-
People born in 1950 are turning 60
1960 - 50
1970 - 40 (alot of us who were born in the early 90's had our sports hero's born in the 70's)
1980 - 30 (alot of our siblings or even some FP users)
1990 - 20 (kids born in 1990 are almost able to legally drink in the US)
As you age, time will appear to move faster. It's because you have more and more memories, so to your brain, a simple day will seem less significant at 40 for example, than it was at age 5.
I've read this somewhere, don't know how accurate this is.

Still, the technology we have today is freakin awesome.
Everyone from the 90's can identify with this
Agree x 1000
I still remember when we got our first PC back in 96', and my older brother strutted around saying/screaming "It's got a 6 gig HDD, it's got a 6 gig HDD!!!"
I also remember the first time I played Half-Life, and how fucking terrified I was :v: .
Oh, and when Quake 2's graphics were fucking mind blowing when it first came out 97'.

A lot of people from this forum were in childhood at that time, including me. I guess children born in the 2000-2010 timeframe will look back and think it was awesome as well.

It always bugged me how the guy holding the gun looked gravely ill. Like he had leukaemia.
I went to this Kids camp for 1st graders this past week, to be a part of a drama team. It was so weird knowing that these kids weren't born when 9/11 happened. I don't know why, but it was so weird to me.

The future is a terrible place:
2000 - 10 (A lot of the younger members of Facepunch are born, act like they own the internet because they were born after it was made widely available)
2010 - Now. (In 10-20 years time it will be the wailing babies of today claiming the '10s were the best decade)
2020 - People born in 1950 are getting on a bit, Nobody was born before the 20th centry
2030 - Nobody fought in WWII, the 1930s are a century ago,
2040 - Those born in the 1990s have their sports heroes die. Last of the stars of classic films of the 1970s and 80s are dead.
2050 - Nobody fought in Vietnam, soldiers today are equivilent to WWII Veterans, Facepunch are retiring (By today's limits).
2060 - Babies today are 50 years old. Nobody fought in the gulf war.
2070 - Soldiers today are dead. Facepunch are dying. Babies today are retiring.
2080 - THE NINETEEN FUCKING EIGHTIES ARE A CENTURY AGO. 90s songs enter the fucking public domain.
2090 - Facepunchers die.
2100 - The Internet is over a century old. The chances of what is on it today still remaining are extremely slim.
2110 - Facepunch's grandchildren are getting on a bit.
2120 - Mikfoz celebrates his 200th.

Thanks, man - now I'm depressed.
seems like yesterday I was listening to "final countdown" by europe at the midnight rollover of 1999-2000. I set my pc to play the song during the rollover from 2009-2010, for nostalgia reason... man I remembered so much from then...
Holy shit, this is my 999 post, which in turn will roll over into my 1000th post...

You know, I didn't think anybody would be able to bare 9 years of the same song rolling.
