A computer specialist with Minot public schools is in federal custody on charges of possessing child pornography.
Court documents claim Christian Robert Webb, also known as Chris Webb, stored images of sexually abused children on school-owned computers.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Lynn Jordheim says Webb was tracked down through internet "chat" records on a computer in Australia.
Several school-owned computers have been seized.
KMOT talked to Minot Public Schools Superintendent David Looysen today who told us he found out after a call from federal officers.
Looysen says Webb is still an employee with the district but they are sorting through the details.
Webb had an office at Jim Hill Middle School and was one of five technicians assigned to various schools.
Webb also worked at Magic City Campus.
Webb remains in custody pending a detention hearing Friday.[/quote]
