Hello Facepunch, long time lurker, first time poster :) I'd like to show you guys my metal band. We are very small time, but we recently remixed our first demo, and started promoting it. The real local promotion will start when we get back to gigging strenght, but for now I try to show this to everybody worldwide. The demo/EP is called Black Feathers, and it contains 4 tracks: 1. Arrakis (based on Frank Herbert's "Dune") 2. The Calling 3. Black Feathers (based on Andrzej Sapkowski's "The Witcher" books) 4. Battlestar Galatica (based on the 2003 re-imagined series) http://www.reverbnation.com/nilfgaard http://www.facebook.com/pages/Nilfgaard/241481849217772 http://www.mediafire.com/?698k46qnzk9kj8t The last link is for a direct download of the MP3s. I hope some of you will like this, cheers!
I like this. Nice groovy, melodic death thing you've got going on there. I'm listening to Arrakis, and I think you could tone the reverb for the vocals down a little bit, but otherwise it's quite awesome. The mixing is also rather well done.
Might as well get the obvious question out of the way. What do you play in this here band?
Hmm yes, I do like that. Respect for those vocals.
I'm going to agree with everything CupUp said. Listening to Arrakis, the vocals are probably the weakest, but I think that's mostly because the reverb is so evident, it kind of muddies them. Other than that, I really enjoy the song. Can we get some lyrics? Hoping to see you guys have a full-length mentioned in the Encyclopaedia Metallum someday soon. :buddy:
Hey guys, thanks for the replies :) I'm the guitarist, songwriter and founder of the band. I may post some lyrics later (or at least those ones that were written by my friend, she's an English teacher, so her lyrics sound more pro, but I write some too). Groovy melodic death...I like this description :D Cheers guys :)
Great quality tracks dude. I love this, it has a great flow to it that really gets you headbanging. I'm not a huge fan of vocals but I might be a little biased because I'm not a huge fan of excessive growling/screaming all the time. You guys seriously shred though.
