The next generation in Navi technology. Looks promising, but I want to see a video of it in real life. Also website: https://www.navdy.com/

That price tag - what a rip.
They picked the worst spokesperson for that ad. how boring and monotonous can you be.
Looks super gimicky.
There's some apps that are similar to this, don't really have the fancy voice stuff but for Android you can enable Ok Google Everywhere and have it be basically this here's a similar app, not quite as full featured as this Navdy but still beats putting down $300 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=idv.xunqun.navier
The best is the Bentley badge on the Ford Fusion
cool but not $300 cool.
Depends on how much you value the ability to feel like you're driving the millennium falcon instead of a station wagon.

What that also means is that it can tell you car diagnostics such as: *Speed (although the app you showed uses GPS for that) *Engine Light stuff *Fuel Economy *Tire Pressure *RPM I also don't think the Navier HUD app does music or the other stuff. It's also a lot brighter than an android or iphone's screen, and probably won't chew through battery as much as keeping the screen on the entire time for the Navier HUD app. Regardless, while it not be worth the $300, it's probably still worth more than the $3000 car tier upgrade required to have satellite navigation on a screen like that. EDIT: At least they're also doing a refund policy for this, considering that it's not going to be entirely like that once it's fully completed.
What's your refund and cancellation policy? We think you will love Navdy. But you can cancel the order and get a full refund within 60 days from the day you placed the order. The product is likely to change before its release as we consider input from backers and continue to develop the technology. The product may be different from your expectations when it arrives. You will have a 30 day evaluation period where you may return the product if you find it's final form unsatisfactory. If you choose to return the product, you will be responsible for shipping fees.
And this thing is pretty neat:
How does the referral program work? When you buy Navdy, you’ll get your own referral link. Any time someone buys a Navdy through that link, you’ll get $30 back. You can earn $30 back up to 10 times. This means that if you refer 10 friends and they buy then your Navdy is free! Some rules and restrictions apply.
I assumed I could put this in my backpack and turn any car into a super-car. Like how a portable projector whole be future-y and turn any room into a shitty theater.
The best is the Bentley badge on the Ford Fusion
I was wondering why that Bentley looked so weird. :v:
I was wondering why that Bentley looked so weird. :v:
Yeah, I actually questioned how up to date I was on car releases. :v:
As a person who likes to pay attention to the road while driving - i like it.

Also, all cars from 1996 onwards have OBD II ports - it won't be possible to miss out on this.
I can't wait for someone to make an app that puts Points above pedestrians, ranging from 100 to 500. It'd make those boring morning commutes more bearable.
cool but not $300 cool.
I think this is a thing targeting rich folks driving $80,000+ cars and not sweaty teenagers driving their moms Picasso.
I think this is a thing targeting rich folks driving $80,000+ cars and not sweaty teenagers driving their moms Picasso.
I highly doubt that as most cars that are $80,000 dollars and up either have this sort of thing or the people driving it haven't even considered it. The point is to be for everyone, remember? It's a lot cheaper than going up a couple of thousands of dollars from the base model of car to get satellite navigation.
At $300 it's still out of most peoples price range, and stand-alone sat navs can be bought for like 50-80 cheapest soooo
This isn't the case in Australia. There are cheap ones but good quality ones are like $250. I still wouldn't say that they are only for the richest people. At least someone is trying to bring technology like this to everyone.
For any car, huh? Tell me, where do I put it in mine: [t]http://puu.sh/aIsPT.jpg[/t]

his license plate says SANDWCH and that amuses me
What ad is this guy from, I've seen him before. I think it was some credit card thing. Edit:
I think this is a thing targeting rich folks driving $80,000+ cars and not sweaty teenagers driving their moms Picasso.
A $25,000 Mazda 3 has this built in.
I don't think they were talking about tin cans on wheels.
Isn't that the definition of cars?
Isn't that the definition of cars?
No, it's the definition of a Beetle.
Look a toy for people who want to be a sci fi.
I was super excited about this because I've wanted a HUD since forever, but then I saw the OBS II requirement and the price. My car is older than that so I couldn't use it and I was expecting around $200. [editline]7th August 2014[/editline]
We will offer an optional accessory for cars without OBD II ports that will allow you to power your Navdy through your cigarette lighter.
Huh, go figure.
Here's a review of the Navdy. http://www.digitaltrends.com/cell-phone-accessories-reviews/navdy-review/#!bzGypM Note that this is actually a review with the real product, rather than a 'I looked at the video, so I know how it works' review. I also discovered the Garmian HUD, which uses the windshield of a car and costs around $200. https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/on-the-go/hud-head-up-display-/prod134348.html I think what makes this an important product is that it sort of sets a trend for this sort of HUD for cars to be in cheaper cars, like the 2014 Mazda 3. In the same vein, they are probably pricing this at $300 (and then eventually 500) because, as a start-up, they can't afford to run at a slight loss yet.
