I've seen reports by this reporter before. They are almost purely inconsequential puff pieces.
However I have never seen something so blatantly ignorant and offensive as this.
As much as I despise our news media, this is by far the exception rather than the rule.

I don't think people realise how ingrained Maori culture is in standard New Zealand culture.
CNN has done these "Social Media Stories" for awhile now, They also make these for local TV Stations so they can fill time, the good part about these reports are that they cannot air them after ten days of being released to stations due to some CNN policy on copyrighted stuff. Where did they diss the culture? Obviously they pointed out the massive differences which are a little silly to us, but that isn't offensive I don't think. This entire video was reasonable and seemed to rather enjoy it when leaders met native-type people.
