It's kind of great to see Bam trying to get his life back together. I grew up watching the CKY videos back in my skate days as a kid, I still remember when the first CKY video came out and I rushed over to my buddies house since he had a VHS player we could watch it on. There's some really great memories in my childhood revolving around Bam. I even got to meet him as a kid pretty much when he was in his prime and despite how he portrayed himself he was a stand up guy even at that age.
Thumbs up to Vice on this one, seems they are making at least some quality content again.
wow, I don't even recognize him anymore
He looks older than his father. :frown:
I knew Bam was in a major decline years ago after seeing this..

The early days of Bam in skate videos was what got me into skating as a kid. When the MTV phase hit I was older and kinda just was like, "holyshit what a fucking knob." Still watched the show though, because it was funny. Also because there was still some good skating going on now and then.

Yeah same, I actually picked up skateboarding again about two months ago and it just feels strange. I totally know what he is going through minus the whole alcohol thing. The last time I skated was September 11th 2001, yeah I know. I snapped my board that day and didn't have the money to get a new one and before I had the money to get another board my uncle put a bike in my hands and I just switched. It does feel good to be on a board again even if I can barely ollie now...
Bam and his crew were the living embodiment of the early 2000s for me. I have so many memories of watching CKY and playing THUG with my friends. It kills me to see him so beat up like this, but it's great that he's trying to get better.
I hope he keeps skating and finds himself. It's hard watching a such a life icon go through all of what he's gone through and not have that fairytale "happy ending" yet, you know?
You can see the stress in April and Phil's faces, but I don't think that they'd have it any other way.
God, I still have one of Bam's element line boards.
