A TV series is being made from stalker!
[release]The grim survival horror series, STALKER is getting its very own TV series. It’s set in the Zone, and will feature many of the things that made STALKER great, like dark radioactive tunnels, deadly anomolies, and lots of angry men shouting at each other in Russian. You’ll find the trailer embedded below.
The game was based on an Andrei Tarkovsky film, in turn based on an Arkady Strugatsky novel called Roadside Picnic, which makes this a TV show of a game of a film of a book. There aren’t many mediums left for STALKER to conquer, but an opera set in the Zone seems like an obvious next step. For more information and a few images from the set, the STALKER teaser site is live. Meanwhile, here’s the trailer.[/release]

How the flying fuck did this stay under the radar for so long?
Saw the trailer the other day.
Looks low budget.
I hope it's good anyways.
I don't think it looks low budget, why do you think that?
It looks great and I hope it's gonna be too!
Well, for starters, the special effects look really amateurish, as in, done with aftereffects presets. That, and the quality is just... weird. It looks like it's filmed in the same style as a webseries. I don't know how to explain it, different types of media have different looks to them. Movies have their own, different genres of tv shows do to, this looks like neither. I think it's something to do with the frames. Any media-savvy people know what I'm talking about?
Same voice actors!!!!
Yea, it looks amateurish. I don't like it

Films don't have as high a frame-rate as this does, and it's silly if you think about it but this doesn't really feel high production quality.
I'd fucking watch it I don't care how shit it may be.
Though they could have dirtied it up a little bit more.
They better not fuck it up, this shit has potential to be something
Russian soap operas usually suck hardcore.
Looks very bad, fan films look better than this.
Well they said in the interview they wanted it to release along with the 2012 game. So they've got 2 years to make it better. It better have some horror elements in it.
Hopefully it will rack in some income for GSC to polish up STALKER 2
If this get better I demand a "Blow Soon Fellow STALKER Cartoon." Or an animated series
Well I'm not gonna judge it, I'm just gonna hope for something good and see what will come.
I really enjoy the fan movies on YouTube, and this looks a lot better than fan movies. I don't care how bad it looks, it's enough for me.
And if they can get enough fans for this, they will have more money to make the series better.
At least GSC assumed complete control of the movie production, so you won't see the plot going down the shitter(DOOM & Resident Evil) or it being completely unrelated to the games(just about every Uwe Boll VG movie). However, they better post the actor list and episode count soon so we can see how much effort they're putting in it budget-wise.
Looks way too action orientated for Stalker.
Stalker is all about atmosphere not “pew pew! Sup0r L33T badAss!1!”.
If they update their damned costumes and props and got good actors I would enjoy it.

That's how all Russian TV shows look.

It's a trailer. It is supposed to get your attention.
What is better at getting someone's attention, action or atmosphere?

I'm not sure of the exact term but it has a lot to do with the type of camera used. Just how you can tell when a movie is filmed on a 35mm camera or digital video. Also has to do with formats such as PAL and NTSC. It is difficult to describe.
It's probably filmed on some cheap digital camera to save money.

It's a trailer, ofcourse they're gonna put mostly action in it.

You should note that the trailer needs to reflect what the majority of the series is like and what its target audience is.
Still better than most TV shows.
Just a blind puppy, huh? Wait until 15 more swarm you
also, the trailer looked terrible, with quite a few stock sounds
Awful idea if you ask me.
It's a cool idea, but ultimately I'm not sure if a tv show is the best way to go about this. A miniseries, definitely, but an entire tv show? Hmm..
If only they were smart enough to lock the FPS at 23.4 like every movie is
