and uh, why not? It's the same price that you'll buy it for when it comes out, and it's only 30 bucks for gods sake. its not some 60$ cod game.

Some people actually want their first experience of a game to be complete instead of one that is half-done. If it's the same price as later, there's no harm in waiting as you'll only have more game to be exposed to when it finally 'releases'.

3 Maps
4 out of 10 Perks
4 purchasable weapons per class and two off-perk weapons currently.
1 out of 4 bosses.
Progression Wipe on Retail Launch
Zero ETA on anything scheduled except "Retail in some time 2015."
Yeah, I can see why some people are holding off.
do you get some sort of neat thingy for being an early access supporter?
Usually don't care but if progression is eventually getting wiped I'd at least like a gold star or something.
I think it's fun, I like watching the body parts fly everywhere

Because then you make the mistake like I did with KSP and play your fill of the game when it's not done and now that it's ready to release and has so many more features and is a much better game than when I played I have no interest in it anymore.
I bought it cause I felt like a game like this. However, the content isn't there at the moment. I don't feel much regret cause I would have bought it on release anyway. The game plays very nice and such, all that's lacking is content really.
I will probably end up putting like a couple more hours in. It depends on the stats wipe. The first wipe, that is going to be it for playing in early access I'd guess for me.
I'll buy it when it's done
It is done, they're using early access for the testing of the netcode for the game so it's perfect for the actual release

It isn't done yet, still perks to add and stuff to implement.

I'm not to concerned about burning out. I can still go back and play Killing Floor 1 today and have a grand ole time. Though I can see why people would stay away from it. It's what I'm doing with Darkest Dungeon.
Only buy the early access if you are a really big fan of KF1
The early access is practically just a demo at this point, but I already put 12 hours into it and I have been having lots of fun with it.
Obviously I will be taking lots of breaks from it and picking up again when new content hits, that's how you have to approach early access.
I'd buy it, but thats because I'm a fan of KF1, as said, and because I trust Tripwire to deliver it all just the way I like it.
If it was any other developer, I'd probably not do it at all, specialy after Planetary: Anihilation
When the dual mags are added I'll buy it.
this guy is obnoxious

How could you even say this when only 4 perks and 3 maps are in the game? Sharpshooter isnt even in yet.
impatiently waiting for firebug
You realize that there isn't going to be much difference between the full release version and this current Early Access thing?
Think about it, KF2 is an extremely simple game. 6 more classes, more guns and a few more maps won't really add much to this base experience you get from EA. I think that's a good thing.

I'll buy it when everything is available. No reason to buy it yet, chill.
i bought it early access because i was going to buy it when it comes out anyway
played a couple rounds to get a feel for the game, but i'm probably not going to touch it again until the next major content update or release. dont want to wear out its welcome

I haven't even bought it myself, just thought I should point it out. A game with this simple of a gameplay loop isn't going to be made by a touch of extra content and bugfixing.
I think Tripwire deserves the support early on. They're a very upstanding developer and they definitely warrant growth. If you're going to jump the bucket eventually, why not do it now? Pretty sure it'll cost a little bit more once it's 100% out in 6ish months.
I bought this. I'm usually wary of early-access games because a ton of them lately have just been utter shit but this is solid as. Plays great and will be sweet to see some more bosses later on to tango with.
Can totally understand people waiting though as perk resets are gonna suck and more perks, maps, bosses will really help.

I'd say the brunt of the development cost is done, they've got the engine and all of the coding, all they really have left to do is mapping and adding classes, bug fixes, weapons, and at least 1 new Patriarch and possibly more zeds.
But, that's where the variety of Killing Floor comes from. "A game with this simple of a gameplay loop" is DEFINITELY going to be improved by "a touch of extra content" which would be doubling the amount of classes + maps and hopefully tripling the amount of weapons. I feel like all I would do by purchasing the game right now is getting burnt out.
It's like saying early access TF2 with Medic, Heavy, and Soldier with the only maps being 2fort and Dustbowl is only slightly less of the original retail release of TF2.
This guy was fine until he said that Wolfenstein: TNO was a piece of shit game.
For me it was one of the best games of 2014. All he had to argue was that "it wasn't the same as the old wolfenstein games"

Have you played KF much if at all
The perks currently missing are going to fill a very important niche (Demolitionist and Sharpshooter in particular), so the game will end up being paced differently when all the perks are released
Bought it myself but i've been smart and just stuck to playing it only a bit to get a feel for it and wait till its more complete before really diving into it.
