In nature, showing teeth is an aggressive or fearful action, but in captivity it is often trained to be positive. So, most likely that was his "somebody shove something delicious in my mouth right now" face.

But yeah, it's still terrifying. I don't know why people train monkeys and shit to "smile." It is very disturbing to me.
