A man who was nearly left blind after he had a bottle smashed into his face has claimed his attacker only escaped jail because she is a woman.
Ronnie Lee, 24, was on a night out in Bournemouth when 21-year-old Yasmin Thomas, who has 17 previous convictions for assault, carried out her unprovoked and vicious attack.
Despite Mr Lee’s horrific injuries that required glass to be removed from his face and stitches on his eyelid, estate agent Ms Thomas was spared jail as the judge gave her a 12-month sentence, suspended for two years, and ordered her to attend anger management classes.
Mr Lee said: ‘If it was the other way around and I did that to her, I would be going straight to jail.
Isn't there such thing as a 3 strikes law? How the fuck does someone with 17 motherfucking assault convictions avoid jail time for nearly stabbing someone's eye out?
17 assault convictions.
Spared jail.
What a fucking joke.
17 assault convictions.

Yeah, I sincerely doubt anger management will help her. She's a danger to others and needs to be in jail.
Unless she really does have only a short temper, I'd also be interested in seeing what a psychiatrist would have to say about the woman.
This seems like a really great newsource.
"Killer whale smacks sea lion 20ft into the air"
"Mother tries to dodge bedroom tax by claiming a ghost lives in the room"
"Magpies may not like shiny things after all"

Sounds like she going for record at this point.
OP are you ever going to post anything that isn't "SEE, SEE HOW BAD THOSE FUCKING WOMEN ARE??!!?". It's getting kinda creepy.
I mean, yeah it's fucked up that with that many assaults, she still hasn't wound up in prison for every offence she commits. But her being a women alone is likely not the deciding factor in this whole thing, preferential treatment isn't that absurd. A suspended sentence isn't exactly getting away free, if she fucks up, she's going to prison.
I can't be the only one that thinks that picture looks fake.
When you want an unbiased assessment of a legal case the best person to ask is someone involved, especially the victim.
I can't be the only one that thinks that picture looks super fake.
Why would a tabloid ever have something fake/misleading?
That is just completely ridiculous.
These are legitimate articles of news.
Why does every article about women doing something and getting away with it.... Ends in a 2 year suspended sentence? Something is fishy. Real fishy. So fishy it smells. A smelly smell that smells... Smelly...

Feminist death squads operate in pairs so when the matriarchal shadow cabal interferes with legal cases they always instinctively hand down a 2-year suspended sentence. Men are governed by logic and science so 1s and 0s run in our blood, but women's blood runs on 2s.

Women, fishy sells... Is this some kind of vagina joke?

This has more to do with the justice system fucking up than with "SEE, SEE HOW BAD THOSE FUCKING WOMEN ARE??!!?".
Just because there are a few bad apples, doesn't mean every apple is bad. Thinking like this is ridiclious.

I think the first order of business is establishing whether or not this even happened as Metro and the Daily Mail are the only two sources I can find. Are there any local news outlets that also reported on this? (Or even the original attack?)

No, its about falling for a clickbait tabloid article.

Is the Mirror a tabloid for you?

How about the Express?

Nah, just a spongebob joke.

Considering she got away from serving hard time 17 other times I doubt it.
Maybe this source is okay?

And, looking at the article, it looks like her sentence was suspended so she could undergo treatment for a behavioral disorder. Plus she was also fined £1100, has to go to anger management classes and also has to do community service as well, so she's not exactly getting off scot free.
The fact that women get away with this shit is obviously the fault of the patriarchy.
After controlling for the arrest offense, criminal history, and other prior characteristics, "men receive 63% longer sentences on average than women do," and "[w]omen are…twice as likely to avoid incarceration if convicted." This gender gap is about six times as large as the racial disparity that Prof. Starr found in another recent paper.
You're right, she's also probably attractive and a good liar, which are qualities that would help men get away with things too. But no amount of charm would save a man from 17 assault convictions.

Yeah, that's exactly the kind of source I was looking for, thanks for finding it.
I'm guessing the factor that influenced the judge's decision was that she sought mental help but was put on a waiting list to receive it.
Life under the matriarchy.

Maybe not scot free, but if the article is credible I would say no jail time after 17 consecutive convictions of violent assaults sounds like the textbook definition of a slap on the wrist. In any case, this probably shouldn't be happening.
