At San Diego Comic-Con it was announced that Batman: The Killing Joke would be one of the next animated movies from DC Comics and Warner Bros.. Tonight at the Batman: Bad Blood panel at New York Comic-Con we got word from producer James Tucker that Warner Bros. gave them permission to make it rated R!
http://batman-news.com/2015/10/09/batman-the-killing-joke-rated-r/ Oh fuck yes oh please dont screw it up. Allowed to be R-Rated. Hamill confirmed. Conroy all but confirmed (Hamill's only ever appeared once without Conroy, and it was a cameo dubbing over an actor in a live action TV series). PLEASE. [editline]10th October 2015[/editline] Fuck, cant change the title. I forgot to put (Probably) after it, since its allowing permission for it, and they likely will do it considering the violence in most of the other animated movies, but still.
The American R rating is a joke anyway, I checked a list of movies during english class once because fuck doing english in english and like 45/50 were R in America and only M-M15+ in Australia.

Rated R? Yes! That means no skimping out on the joker. Now Conroy just needs to announce his involvement and I will watch the shit out of this.

Ignoring the age differences I think they sound fairly comparable in terms of how strictly they're enforced. Ie R/MA isn't as strict as R/NC-17.

The difference between G and PG seems practically meaningless, with a lot of Disney movies falling into the latter (I guess for having a spooky scene or two). Not having anything between PG-13 and R is a bit much as well, considering receiving an R rating tends to really hurt box office numbers. On the other hand, TV ratings seem ridiculously easy to game. Hannibal (TV-14) gets away with showing some pretty gruesome stuff as long as it sticks to showing the aftermath as opposed to the actual acts of violence. Meanwhile, boobs will instantly launch you up to TV-MA/R.
TV/film ratings, much like ESRB ratings, are adversely retarded
They'll fuck that ending up royally. The genius of it only works in comic format.

The only thing the MPAA ratings system is good for is determining whether or not a movie is either cool as shit or sucks shit. R rated? Cool as shit. PG-13 rated? More than likely sucks shit.

It's not the batman movie people deserve, but it sure is one they want [editline]11th October 2015[/editline]
Is there even rating for 15 in US?
