There was a climate change showdown on Q&A last night when Professor Brian Cox and One Nation Senator Malcolm Roberts were guests on the panel. Here's the best bits from their exchanges for you. The night began with an audience question to the British physicist, asking him to address Senator Roberts' request for proof of a human element in climate change.
Read more, and watch videos of the exchange, at http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-08-16/professor-brian-cox-vs.-senator-malcolm-roberts/7746576?WT.tsrc=Facebook My favourite part is this:
"Malcolm, you are hearing the interpretation of a highly qualified scientist and you're saying, "I don't believe that" — is that right?"

"I'm saying two things. First of all, that the data has been corrupted and we know..."

"What do you mean by corrupted? What do you mean?"

"Been manipulated..."

"By who?"

"By NASA..."

"NASA?!"

*The audience began to laugh*
This is what happens when someone only needs to win 7.7% of the vote to be elected as a Senator. It provides a platform for morons.
Climate change deniers only function by deliberately ignoring hard facts and acting completely nonsensical, you could demolish them on a daily basis and they'd still insist that it was all made up.

Is Brian Cox wearing a Leather jacket under his blazer? I didn't think he could get more handsome
Climate change deniers only function by deliberately ignoring hard facts and acting completely nonsensical, you could demolish them on a daily basis and they'd still insist that it was all made up.
thats the genius of being a skeptic. Getting punted by facts? they're obviously being manipulated against me. Getting punted by scientists? They're obviously biased. Getting punted by mother nature? Well its obvious we don't know everything they're the shoops and we're the sheeple

That's called caring more about being right than knowing the truth.
The episode is being repeated on TV now, it's about as abysmal as I expected. "The rising levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere are because the temperatures are rising."
I'm so glade we have Q&A here in Australia. That show is so important for the Australian public.
What is it with Conservative politicians named "Malcom" in Australia.
What is it with Conservative politicians named "Malcom" in Australia.
I don't know of any 'Malcoms'. Any of you other Australians know any?
What is it with Conservative politicians named "Malcom" in Australia.
He's not conservative - he is a nutjob.
