Hey FP'ers
Looking to go visit my partner soon, he moved recently to be with his grandparents after a falling out with his mum and her new boyfriend, but that means we are now 150-200 miles away (rather than 20ish).
I was going to book a hotel room (Probably premier inn, or travelodge), but it asks you how many people will be in the room - technically it will be both me and my partner, but it will only be me that needs a keycard, and I can't see the difference between him coming over and staying and if I was someone just going out in the town and bringing back a one night stand.
Anyone work in a hotel to give me any more info? Prices go up by about £20-30 if I specify 2 adults...
Just say 1? You only need 1 keycard..
It's not like they're going to knock on your door. "Ma'am, we've been informed that there are infact TWO adults in your room."
This is what I thought, but thought i'd get some more opinions first. Rather not be woken up in the middle of the night by some gruff security guard telling me "Sir, you have to leave" -.-
I thought this was going to be a thread complaining about bad hotel rooms.
How would they even know? Are they going to look in the window of every occupied room to make sure there isn't more than the specified amount of people?
Have you never stayed at a hotel before?
Yes, albeit it was in a city center of a city where nightlife is pretty big. Everyone that came into the hotel required a key card. I doubt it'd be the same here as its out of the way, but as i said above.
Just make sure you only have your partner in there too. I think packing the room like a clown-car might be stretching it.

We don't do that ;-) We make enough noise as it is.
I hope you two are happy together, even if you gotta work at it. <3
Who says "Partner" anymore? What is it, the late 90's?

i think he is a gay
You're probably right. I put ma'am in my joking first post, since OP made it sound like it was a she going to visit her boyfriend.
Lets not jump to conclusions yet, maybe he means "business partner" or "partner in crime"
Ugh. Avatar fits.
I fail to see how me wishing two people love and happiness is deserving of such a hateful and snide little comment such as that. If you're so intolerant of two peoples' love for each other, I feel sorry for you.

Creating spreadsheets is incredibly loud.
Because your comment had absolutely nothing to do with hotel rooms.
How dare I take time out of my day to make someone feel good about themselves and their situation? Being nice must warrant mean comments now.
Don't worry, the DARPA Chief will give you one.
I might get dumbed for this but I mean OP are you a guy?
Not that I'm insulting you or anything but I can't tell :v:
If you have 2 people in the room and you said you had one, they can kick you out, but its unlikely they'll find out. Just be discrete about it (only one person goes up to the counter, then let the other guy in the back later).
Are you 21? A lot of hotels (in the US) require you to be 21 to book a room (sometimes even older). Call the hotel ahead of time and ask how old you have to be.

I don't see how you needed Facepunch to answer this... :v:
Biological scans show a discrepancy in room 421 MOVE MOVE MOVE MOVE

It's probably because you are getting 2 beds, that's why it costs more. Get 1 bed.
Also, I've gotten a room, and invited 5 people to stay there. We stayed up playing Halo. Just don't be loud. Get the cheaper room assuming you don't have a problem with staying in the same bed.
And I know this will work cause I've done it before and I'm doing it again in a week with my girlfriend. It's no problem at all.

the secret is the thrust the bed against the wall a few times.

That's not how it works.
If you say you have 2 people but only need 1 bed, they will still charge you more than if you had 1 person in 1 bed.

We need one of these. I somewhat enjoy seeing facepunchers complain about stuff.
I somewhat enjoy seeing their opinions and such.

Either way I say it's 1 person no matter what. I don't get hotels enough to know how they work I guess, I just know no one will ever really care if you have an extra person.
Who says "Partner" anymore? What is it, the late 90's?
I do, because it's easier than saying de facto marriage relationship/marriage-like relationship.

No one else saw this ?
Just watch out for the sperm and the cunt-juices on the blankets and mattress!
remember to steal the tiny bottle of hand moisturizer + wrapped bars of soap
I was hoping this would be a thread for people to post funny stories about bad hotels they'd stayed in.
