Saying bless you when someone sneezes has just worked its way into common manners, at least it has where I'm from.

I'm pretty sure if the kid said Alluah Ackbar to the person they'd be suspended and half of these people would be supporting the suspension.

Seems like either a large part of this story is missing (what did the girl say to the teacher?) or this teacher is nuts.

Here where I live (Texas) it can be the entire other way around. I watch my language so I don't piss off any of the more religious teachers by saying non-Christian things.

I hope the people that suspended this student get reprimanded. If they are teachers they should know that it's a common phrase that has mostly shed its religious connotations and is used as a response to a sneeze. Basically every language has one.
