I made her a while ago because I wanted to try out something a bit more classic in terms of posture and concept. Later I bought some new pens and gave her life with color and shading.
Her anatomy is a bit iffy but by the time I realized I didn't want to risk ruining it by trying to rub out any lines. << - Bad excuse -
I kinda like her, given it's my first attempt with color pens.
I like it, I like it a lot.
Are you using prismacolor markers for the shadows there? If so, you should try using a blending pen to see if you can soften up some of the shadows.
I use Faber Castell artist pens. Never heard of a "blending pen" before, are you simply referring to a middle color or a pen specifically for blending two at-will colors together?
In the prismacolor set that I use, there is a blending pen that allows you to smooth either colors, or gradients together. It does change the texture slightly.
I would definitely find out if you can get a hold of one and experiment.
I'll definitely be on the look-out for this! Thanks a lot. I sorta considered using charcoal or watercolors to soften up the shadows but I'm still a bit unsure of whether or not the final result would be likeable.
You should really make prints of the lineart, and experiment until desired results are achieved :D I'm assuming this is paper.
I nice subject, I find following through with my ideas really difficult, and they tend to be getting repeatetive and boring.
Nice work!
