Okay, so i have doodled for a couple of weeks, and i thought that i should try making something major now. I have a few questions first, though.
1. Unlike pencil-drawing, you "build up" a drawing, with a few colors blurry colors and then work in the details. I read somewhere, that it would be the best soloution. Is this true, though?
2. Are there any special brushes i should use? At this moment i just use the round, standard ones.
3. How big should my pieces be? Right now they are A4-ish.
Thanks in advance.
Well if you're very experienced than start with general shapes and build to specifics. If you're not start by sketching, rough it up to a finer lineart and then color on a new layer.
It's often best to use your native resolution. I don't believe you have to go over 2000x2000 tho.
But about the brushes, go check out the creative drawings thread I believe Detlef already answered your question about that.
Actually all of these questions have been answered before in these threads, so maybe next time browse the Creative Drawing thread, you can learn a lot from the advice in there and you wont have to open a thread.
Thank you, man. I'll check it out!

Link to the previous version also in that thread. Just read the whole thing.
I'm very shit with digital medium but here's my two cents.
1.you build up pencil drawings nearly the same way. when painting you only use colour instead of line.
2. use hard round brush with size of about 70-90 and opacity of 75% and up.
I usually use those settings and smaller brushes for detailing and 25-50% opacity brushes for smoothing and colour blending.
3. 2000px to 5000px per side depending on the amount of details. I usually go 2500px.
Preferrably get used to it first before you go fucking around with all the shit you can find in the menus.
digipainting is painting, I highly reccomend you to learn the basics of traditional painting(acrylic or guache should do) before moving onto tablets as it will help heaps. Going the other way can be troublesome.
Tablet is something you can fully utilize after you are atleast intermediate with traditional mediums.
Going over to tablet after scribbling on the side of your notes during class for a few weeks can have a negative impact. It's easier to get to know the feel of pen and adapt to digipen later than vice versa.
Thanks for the answer. I have been drawing for a long time, so that is no problem. When you say 2000px to 5000px, do you mean 2000px in all or like 2000x2500px ?
2000px as any dimension above that should do
