You guys can let this thread die. I went with the CYMA CM028 AK-47 http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=1484
Also, you've never noticed the questions thread before.
Definitely not. I've never even been to this forum before.
So I'd really like to get a nice airsoft gun. I've never bought one before, so I'd like some quality input. It's my interpretation that paintball is for sport, and airsoft is for gun enthusiasts, so I think this is the best option for me. I'm really into semi-automatic rifles; especially bolt-action rifles. I want something accurate, heavy, and sexy. It would be nice to have a functioning scope, but my main focus is accuracy and firepower. I have no idea what these things go for, but I'd like to keep it under $50-60 if at all possible. Bolt-action rifles give me wet dreams. :h:
Nope.
Sniper rifles, are really underpowered in airsoft. Unless you just want to plink rather than skirmish, I'd (we'd) recommend you get an AEG. Unless you're willing to upgrade the fuck out of the rifle, you'll be severely outgunned. Actually, even then, you'd still be outgunned. If you are like 100% sure you want some bolt action springer, check out www.airsoftgi.com, they carry a lot of upgrade parts for sniper rifles. Otherwise, do the smart thing and get an M16 AEG or someshit, you'll get about the same accuracy, with a lot more firepower. but yeah, questions thread pls
hnnng Airsoft and paintball are really similar, but our guns look cooler and our community is generally more mature.

If you want a good bolt action sniper (god knows why you would), you're going to need a bit more coin to spend my friend.
paintball community sucks speaking out of experience
Save up your money, get about $110~ and go and buy yourself a CYMA 028, best beginner gun out there. Also, we welcome you, but please use the questions thread for questions, etc. Also, on another not, you'll see that we're not diehard serious all the time, so if we shitpost at you, don't take it too seriously, we're all like a big family almost.

If you are ~in love~ with bolt actions, get a JG BAR10 scope package. However, a better option is a CYMA CM028 or G&G Combat Machine M4.
You really need to be the mod of this place.
I'm not trying to, just warning him so there's not another jenkem shitfest again oh fuck lol i just read your post as "you really don't need to be the mod of this place" my bad [editline]11th March 2011[/editline] Also, I've held the UTG L96 thing, i'm no expert on snipers, but it seemed decent from what I saw on the field
Can I be mod instead. I'm fun. Impartial. And for the people. Well usually...
make me mod i am like the garruis
shouldn't ender be the mod?
no me
We aren't getting a section mod.
and im glad we aren't
Our subforum is pretty much self-governed anyway
UTG L96 for me had tons of problems after you lose the golden pin assembly in the bolt so no point.
why not like.. loc tite the pin into the assembly [editline]10th March 2011[/editline] or something
paintball community sucks speaking out of experience
Funfact: Paintballers say the exact same about airsofters. And then people like me sit on the sidelines, play both, and think you are both stupid. They are completely different games. To be honest, I vastly prefer paintball though. Much more CQB, its near impossible to lie about cheating, and around me, no one is fucking 12 playing paintball. Paintball taught me about pneumatics - of which I am now taking and acing a course in. I have found my paintball guns - Tippmann 98, Tippmann X7P, Invert Mini - to be much more reliable than all of my airsoft guns. I have only had o-ring breaks, which are normal and consumables. My airsoft guns always fuck up with their plastic construction, despite buying 200 dollar ones.
My airsoft guns have never fucked up and I own five I think. I play often too. I have found that with airsofters they have more of a interest in milsim which is what I like.
I think paintball is generally looked down upon by us because we feel our gun knowledge outweighs the sport aspect. The airsoft community is full of ex-military and weapon enthusiasts, and is thus kind of a way for said enthusiasts to interact outside of a firing range. Paintball may make a better sport, but you can't really compare the communities. That's tantamount to comparing football players and computer programmers.
Actually, I've entered in a couple speedball tournaments, and dozens and dozens of weekend skirmishes. Oh my god are the people ever elitist. The kids that were a tier above us were always talking down to us, and giving us shit for not being as "pro" as them. Even in casual games there's always people who are overly competitive and trash talk all the fucking time. No one really ever helps anyone else out unless they came together in a party or they know each other. Then I went airsofting for the first time, and oh my god was that ever different. My SRC AKM broke down early in the day, and I was worried that I paid into this event and not get to actually play the entire day. Then this random fucking guy just lent me his $500 gun to use for the day. No questions asked or anything. He saw my gun stop working mid-game, so he left the field to go to his car and grabbed me his spare gun, with a couple spare mags. Then when that ran out of battery, some other random guy threw me his handgun to use, even let me use his gas and bb's. Plus, there was just a lot more interesting people to talk to in airsoft. It's a nice change from the monotonous paintball crowd. Maybe it's because airsoft is just growing in Canada, but there really is a huge sense of community in airsoft. Even after attending a couple local games, people start messaging me on the forums and I already know a couple people's names.
+1 to that. We always have kids that show up to games with terrible clearsoft guns and we always are able to get them a gun.

Yet, my airsoft experiences have been terrible and kiddy. It really is a matter of where you go and who you are with.
Well, of course. Overall, I've spent a lot more time paintballing than airsofting, but right here where I live, at the places I play, airsofting has a lot more cool dudes.
bit of advice, if you are buying a vest next make sure it is compatible with ak mag chest rig
