I remember a topic on Facepunch talking about those, but I can't find it, and if I google I get boots for spring mostly. The boots I'm talking about are plastic-like boots 0.5-1meters high, beetwen your feet and ground there are huge springs, I've seen movies on youtube with guys jumping over cars in those. So does anyone know their name? Movies most often show the boots in yellow color.
Spring boots?

Is this the kind of boots you are looking for?

bitchez be jealous of my moon bootz
Aren't these things like shit expensive?
Yeah.
I heard they go from $350 up to a few thousand or so.
Powerbock or whatever

Expensive or not, these things are awesome :smug:
Good ones can cost only 200$
Yeah, those were the ones I was searching for, thanks! :D
I bought some a couple months ago, and let me just say - be prepared to fail your first time. I fell a lot, and getting up is pretty hard without a friend. It's pretty snowy where I am right now, so I can't use them, but when I had them it only took a couple of days before I felt comfortable running and jumping. Hopefully this summer I will become amazing at them...without dieing.
EDIT: By the way, I bought the Poweriser PR-7090 from Ebay from obd777 for about $230. They are definitely worth it.
Well then, anyone got some experience with them except Spoof?
MOON BOOTS!
I remember the Arthur episode with them. He raked leaves from the tree with em!
I would love to get some but they are damn expensive
They're called powerstilts or powerbockers, depending on where you live. I have a pair, I suck and have hardly used them. Probably a waste of $500, but oh well.
Let me just pre-warn you that some of the videos that you might have seen, those guys are really good, not amateurs - do don't expect to be anything like them for years to come. Videos like this will get your hopes up too high

I only Bock like once every month or two, yet I can do flips, jump as high as the people in that video and do many of the tricks.
It's all about Bocking with other people, you learn 4 times as quick.
By the way, looking at your technique, you need to keep you legs straight as hell while jumping and not absorb the force on landing. Also, use you arms more, but don't flail around.
Apart from that:
Powerbock/Powerstilt/Bock = General name for the stilts, there are many brands.
Powerbocker/Bocker = The person using the stilts.
Just to clarify, these are 100% worth the money.
Try and bock with other people, you learn much quicker and there is a large community you may not know about.
Mainly UK forum(I prefer this community though): www.projump.co.uk
US/UK forum: www.poweriserpages.com
Feel free to ask me questions, since I have a lot of experience.
How do you take them off? I imagine it's like stilts?
It depends on if you have a Knee Bar or a Calf cuff.
Generally they are really easy to take off, if your slightly inexperienced you should take them off sitting/leaning on a wall or bench, though I can take them on and off sitting of the floor(and get up from there).
Knee Bar: 15-45 seconds to take off.

Calf Cuff: 30 seconds-1 and a bit minutes to take off.

(Sorry about the animated image).
Ahh, I see. I always get this image of having to fall backwards onto your ass in order to take them off.
Oh, on another note, this is so fun you can do it for hours(much more fun doing it with other people).
I bocked for 11 hours on Halloween at a big meetup, about 30 Bockers went(not eveyone is in the photo, obviously).

There is a easy technique you can learn to get up after falling (I could easily do it in my 4th month of bocking, and I only found out about it on my 3rd month), I can now get up from the floor in under 2 seconds if I fall, and if you wear proper safety gear like I do it doesn't hurt at all.
For those who want to lose weight, before I started this sport my BMI was 24, it is now around 18.1-18.5.
I wunt that.
I wunt that.
I love them, and I must say the sport has changed my life quite a bit (in a good way)!
It's pretty easy to get started too.
