article: http://insidemovies.ew.com/2012/10/31/mark-hamill-star-wars-episode-vii-disney/
Entertainment Weekly: What did you make of the big news yesterday? Mark Hamill: Oh my gosh, what a shock that was! I had no idea that George was going to sell to Disney until I read it online like everybody else. He did tell us last summer about wanting to go on and do [Episodes] VII, VIII, and IX, and that [newly appointed Lucasfilm president] Kathleen Kennedy would be doing them. He seems to be in a really good place. He’s really happy. And that’s nice because I know that when we were making the movies, he was not a jolly guy on set. [laughs] I always felt badly for him because he agonizes over details, and I’m sure after imagining it in his head for so many years, to see it realized—he’d look up and just hang his head and groan. Harrison [Ford], Carrie [Fisher], and I were always trying to cheer him up and joke him out of his doom and gloom. I missed his call yesterday, but I spoke to him maybe three weeks ago. But until we know more, it’s hard to make any comment other than congratulations to George.
hmmmm. What will happen to the future series? Who knows ... But if I see an old Mark Hamill wearing a ragged up Jedi Robe, playing a Yoda-like character ... I think I may be interested.
set it five hundred billion years after RotJ and old luke has to save the last stars from burning out
Does anyone really wanna see a bunch of old actors playing their glory day characters in a disney'ed up starwars?
I hope it has the super death machine that eats planets and automatically makes tie fighters.

is it bad that I like Hamill more for his Joker voice work than for being Luke Skywalker?
set it five hundred billion years after RotJ and old luke has to save the last stars from burning out
STAR WARDS!
I hope it has the super death machine that eats planets and automatically makes tie fighters.
star forge 2.0 I'm not really sure what you can do another star wars movie on the Yu-Song-Vong wars are a bit too dark for Disney, which leaves either the emperor's clone or the Zhan Consortium. Jedi Knight / Academy would probably make a good film
Does anyone really wanna see a bunch of old actors playing their glory day characters in a disney'ed up starwars?
Do we even know if it will be the same characters? If they start from scratch with only minor links to the other films it could be good.
So wait, does that mean Hamill is playing an older Skywalker? That could be awesome.
So wait, does that mean Hamill is playing an older Skywalker? That could be awesome.
not in the slightest it would be cool though

And the World Devastators (Omnomnom'd stuff to use it to build droid TIEs) came long before the Star Forge of KOTOR.
is it bad that I like Hamill more for his Joker voice work than for being Luke Skywalker?
I agree, his work as The Joker is fantastic while I find many of the Star Wars films to be pretty lack-luster, except for what little I've seen of "Empire Strikes Back".
is it bad that I like Hamill more for his Joker voice work than for being Luke Skywalker?
Not at all, really.
You forgot a little detail: Fucking Rosh.
Fuck Rosh, just do a Dark Forces II adaption.
I wouldn't mind seeing Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill in it. As long as they aren't playing the main roles. Maybe their children will be the main characters?
Watch how these new Star Wars movies have Jar Jar Binks Mk. 2.
As long as they don't shit all over the star wars lore. (If that's even the right word to use)
Thrawn Trilogy, maybe? And the World Devastators (Omnomnom'd stuff to use it to build droid TIEs) came long before the Star Forge of KOTOR.
IF (stressing the IF) they did that trilogy well, it would be the best thing to happen to the franchise since the first movie. One of the first stumbling blocks is getting Thrawn and Gilad Pellaeon right. The former's dark chrisma and skill, the latter's audiance sympathy are big parts of that.
I hope it has the super death machine that eats planets and automatically makes tie fighters.
You mean World Devastators? I'd shit myself if they did that.
I think it would be cool to see a new, fresh story, with the some of the old characters just making cameo apperances.
Does anyone really wanna see a bunch of old actors playing their glory day characters in a disney'ed up starwars?
Did you watch The Avengers? The Disney logo is at the way end of the credits and that movie is hardly "disney'd up".
I'm thinking Episode 7 is going to deal with Thrawn (That guy)
Well they could turn the comics into movies I suppose, dealing with Lukes children and rebuilding the Jedi and shit like that. Or maybe they do a movie that is completely unfocused on the jedi and barely cameos them.
Would be better if Star Wars "7" was before any of the six existing movies. There's barely anything you can talk about, and even though the end of SW6 was pretty cliché, it was a satisfying closure that didn't really leave anything open for sequels. The sith are well buried, the galaxy is at peace and Luke goes to probably recreate the jedi academy. No need for anything beyond that point. There's plenty of room before all of that though, so I'd rather have them make a potentially crap movie centuries before the existing saga.
Did you watch The Avengers? The Disney logo is at the way end of the credits and that movie is hardly "disney'd up".
Besides the fact that they cater to an audience so young that they haven't read a comic book in their life.
