I really enjoyed that, I've never played DOTA 2 so I wasn't expecting too. I thought it was really well made overall. The in game sequences looked really nice.
Almost cried.
Almost cried.
Me too. I was just happy for the Ukrainian dude. Don't even understand why I got so emotional about this..
MLG hardcore gaming sponsored by Mountain Dew™ and Doritos™ [sp]MLG is fucking stupid and anyone involved in it should get a real job, also DOTA, and for that matter, any MOBA are shitty games.[/sp] (User was banned for this post ("Trolling" - verynicelady))
Should've just called it DotA: The movie.

That was really pretentious in many parts.
That was really pretentious in many parts.
Which parts?
Some of the parts where it tried to emphasize the difficult parts of the lifes behind the players. Just not a fan of people sitting in the bushes looking contemplative but that's a personal thing, no biggie.

Jeez, man
That was better than I anticipated.
I didn't think I would care about a video of mlg gamers lives, especially about dota since I'm not a big fan of the genre. But I sat down with breakfast and a cup of coffee and watched any ways. It was pretty interesting, and a good watch. I'm glad I did

meanwhile everyone knows that pro gaming is all about teh money and pro gamers in the future become virtual ownzone pimps featuring in violent egotistical montages
That was really pretentious in many parts.
it was made for a general audience
I think it was pretty cool. The way dendi speaks about his dad is really moving.

How much do you make in a year? Also the team that won 2011, won second place in 2012, and 2013. So that's around 375k each person. And that's just for the Valve tournament.

Quality shit poster right here, guys. [editline]20th March 2014[/editline] Shit, why is the editing system so fucked right now? *shit post
Interesting to watch. Will be interesting to see how much higher those prize pools will get over the years if the popularity picks up for viewers of the tournaments.
dendi is one of the richest persons in ukraine iirc.
Considering he's one of the most well known dota players he probably gets some amazing sponsorship deals. He deserves it, there aren't many people that are as upbeat as dendi in competitive play.
I didn't have very high hopes for a esports documentary but that was surprisingly not terrible. This video made me super glad I wasn't born in Singapore.
The SFM parts blew my mind.
Which parts?
there was only one part where i let out a big PFFFFT and that's when dendi was seen fishing at the end, very well timed after his mom or sister or someone had said "he doesn't go fishing anymore since dad died" that part felt very staged, and i really hope it wasn't
Color correcting is great and all until you pause the video on a non blurry shot and their skin color is blue
An overall well made film, not even from a Dota fan perspective. Good cinematography, great dramatic timing, and lots of useful information for the uninformed of the competitive scene as well. A good, heartfelt documentary even if it was sort of cheesy in places (Like the Dendi fishing scene). For an hour and twenty minutes and being free, it's worth it to hunker down and watch it.
