I figured i haven't posted anything in a while, so i would just post some older shots i took that i think are pretty good. I seen other people doing their own threads so i figured i would join in and make my own. Anyway the shots are in order from oldest to newest (So old - first, new - last) I'm not posting my all of my photos, just ones i think are worth wild to post in a thread. You can look at all mine at my deviant art page. http://robert-j-b.deviantart.com Also feel free to give some creative criticism, most have already had their dose of that however.
I like the Cheetah photo, even though it could have been pulled off much better if you took it at a different angle without the cropping.
Wonderful!
Since I can't really give you any overall tips because of the diversity of these shots (both in subject, style, and overall quality); I'll critique each one separately for you. (A thing I rarely do) First Shot: Bullseyed subject, bad angle (Looking down on a small animal usually makes for a bad angled shot.) Second Shot: The subject is kind of boring (Taking into consideration that it's sleeping) composition is nice, angle isn't as good again due to looking down on it. Third Shot: Brilliantly hilarious Fourth Shot: HURR I'M A *whatever that animal is*. I like it. Fifth Shot: Nice shot except it looks a tad over exposed and you can see the fence in the corner which takes a lot away from the atmosphere. Sixth Shot: Bullseye Seventh Shot: Bullseye, but other than composition this one is a good shot Eighth shot: What the fuck is even going on? Ninth Shot: Bad angle/Composition, (I can't tell what you were trying to make the main focal point) Tenth Shot: Same shot as tenth shot (Probably already edited by now) Eleventh shot: The deep orange light is caused by city light pollution which tends to be a bad thing. Twelfth Shot: Overexposed/Good Subject matter/angle/composition. One of the better ones. Fourteenth Shot: Very cool shot, except for that it's out of focus. Fifteenth Shot: Boring subject matter, ok composition and angle Sixteenth shot: Idea has been executed hundreds of times better than this. NExt time you do one like this try to find an overpass without as much light pollution. (The street lights, gas station. city in the background etc) Seventeenth shot: Boring traffic shot Overall: Work on composure, read rule of thirds if you haven't already, get rid of the borders (all they do is become a nuisance when you're trying to print) Go outside your comfort zone to get good subject matter (Go to the actual wilderness somewhere, or a national park.)

The angles where difficult to pull off due to the fact most of the zoo was under some type of construction or i was stuck in a oddly made observation post. I myself stopped with the whole border thing, got sick of putting them on and they're beginning to get distracting. I figured they where cool to add at first because when i did film photography and i developed our trays would automatically block light and make white boarders around our photos which made it a bit more artistic. So pretty much a bad habit, but I'm moving away with that. How can i minimize light pollution in a area that is like that? Any tricks to that?
omg!! I loves!!
It was one of the coolest pandas i saw in the zoo.
