Funny thing, during the 90's his official artist name was not "Prince", but rather this symbol:

Since no one knew how to say that, people started referring to him as "The Artist Formerly Known As Prince" which quite doesn't ring that well in my opinion. He also has some cool guitars, some of which are based on the Prince-symbol:

His newer stuff is actually stupendous!!! The 3121 album is some of his best newer work. He still goes strong and he still climbs charts well
I have Purple Rain and Sign o the Times. I've only listened to Purple Rain. It's a great album.
Sign o the times is his best album by far....
Its prince in his prime, and an album that is absolutely unique. Of course purple rain made him popular, but sign o the times is in a league of its own. Its definitely up there with all time great albums
