• Stating the obvious: collective bargaining law doesn't save money
Like a dog going at a bone, U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, didn't stop until he got the answer he was looking for from Gov. Scott Walker during the governor's testimony Thursday before the House Oversight and Goverment Reform Committee. Kucinich said he could not understand how Walker's bill to strip most collective bargaining rights from nearly all public workers saved the state any money and therefore was relevant to the topic before the committee, which was state and municipal debt. When Walker failed to address how repealing collective bargaining rights for state workers is related to state debt or how requiring unions to recertify annually saves money -- one of the provisions in Walker's amended budget repair bill -- Kucinich tried one more time. "How much money does it save Gov. Walker?" Kucinich demanded. "Just answer the question." "It doesn't save any," Walker said. "That's right. It obviously had no effect on the state budget," Kucinich replied. Kucinich said it was clear the attack on collective bargaining rights was a choice and not a fiscal issue. "It's a political issue," he said. This pretty much confirms he is a massive idiot and should be removed from office.
Guess Wisconsin is gonna be more democratic come next election.
.....Can someone impeach this bastard already!?
.....Can someone impeach this bastard already!?
I don't know why they didn't consider it after learning about the contributions to his campaign from the unions he didn't strip rights from
I don't know why they didn't consider it after learning about the contributions to his campaign from the unions he didn't strip rights from
We cant recall him until next year. Not sure about impeachment but that would probably be the government itself starting it and that happening isn't going to happen.
We cant recall him until next year.
you can only impeach an official if they've committed a crime. unfortunately, shitty, union-busting legislation isn't illegal
Welp, time to watch his ass 24/7 now
Can't wait for everyone to recall him. It's gonna be gold. Sweeter than any candy you've ever tasted.
.....Can someone impeach this bastard already!?
No! It's only been said a thousand times that due to the state constitution, he cannot be impeached until he has served at least 1 term. Which he hasn't.
No! It's only been said a thousand times that due to the state constitution, he cannot be impeached until he has served at least 1 term. Which he hasn't.
amazing how much he fucked up in one term and how much republicans want to defend him
amazing how much he fucked up in one term and how much republicans want to defend him
Yeah, god damn republican-made Constitution laying out what can and cannot be done...I'll bet Bush and Cheney were behind the hole thing!
Yeah, god damn republican-made Constitution laying out what can and cannot be done...I'll bet Bush and Cheney were behind the hole thing!
I don't know if you're using sarcasm or you're just plain pants on head retarded. Care to elaborate?
you can only impeach an official if they've committed a crime. unfortunately, shitty, union-busting legislation isn't illegal
What about this?
-SNIP- misread Collective bargaining rights needs to be protected. It's one of the few incentives workers have to keep on working their jobs.
Why don't all the fucking workers protest like fuck all over the state? Won't the government even kick into action? Seriously, everyone is gonna sit down and do fuckall and the ones that actually DID protest still didn't mean anything. I know the above doesn't make sense, but honestly, it's bullshit. Kick his ass out. There has to be something in the laws or an exception that gets his stupid ass kicked out.
I know the above doesn't make sense, but honestly, it's bullshit. Kick his ass out. There has to be something in the laws or an exception that gets his stupid ass kicked out.
referendums and recalls. lern2gov
I  Kucinich, he's a bit nuts but he's got integrity/commitment, that's for sure.
referendums and recalls. lern2gov
Sorry, stupid people piss me off, and I'm not knowledgeable in American law, as I'm Canadian.
I don't know if you're using sarcasm or you're just plain pants on head retarded. Care to elaborate?
The Wisconsin state constitution says that a governor cannot be recalled or impeached until they have served a full term. So all the bitching about "Impeach him already!" doesn't mean shit because the law forbids it. [editline]14th April 2011[/editline]
What about this?
That was definitely very wrong, I won't argue with that. But it's not Walker's doing. Impeach those senators. [editline]14th April 2011[/editline]
-SNIP- misread Collective bargaining rights needs to be protected. Well, it doesn't stop us from calling him a complete asshole, so at least the people of Wisconsin can default to that until his first term is up. :v:
Wrong, it totally saves money. With the unions gutted, Wisconsin's Republicans don't have to spend as much money during election season to drown everyone else out and preserve their own power. Unions contribute money to Democrats, that's the only reason the first order of business for the new Republican governors is to dismantle unions.
Yeah, god damn republican-made Constitution laying out what can and cannot be done...I'll bet Bush and Cheney were behind the hole thing!
Yeah, because republicans wrote the constitution... No, the founding fathers did. Trying to claim them for your party to make your imaginary case stronger is pretty sad.
Welp, time to watch his ass 24/7 now
He sped on his way to McDonald's! Quick, impeach him!
The Wisconsin state constitution says that a governor cannot be recalled or impeached until they have served a full term.
Your point is moot since they already pushed through this piece of legislation completely AGAINST a court ruling.
Are they rioting or is it just protests in Wisconsin
Are they rioting or is it just protests in Wisconsin
Protests.
